Since A.W.  has been inducted to the HOF,   Has anyone played his course and what did you think of it?   In the early 90's I was in KC for several months and played Swope Memorial numerous times. That is the only Tillinghast course I have played.   I really enjoyed it and have even thought of going back to play it.

I have played 7 courses that Tillinghast has some hand in (originally or redesign).  I enjoyed all of them.  Found them all to be very playable.

The only one I've played was at Bedford Springs, PA.  Apparently the course was originally built in 1895, and Tillinghast redesigned it.  It was redesigned again by Donald Ross.  After years of declining maintenance, and closure of the old hotel, the original resort was rebuilt and the golf course was supposedly restored to the Tillinghast/Ross style.  I played it before the more recent renovation, and it was in so-so condition.  I'm glad its back to what I understand is pretty good condition.
