The 2015 Quicken Loans National will be hosted by Tiger Woods at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. The course, which will play as a par-71 measuring 7,385 yards, holds the event for the first time — Aronimink Golf Club and Congressional Country Club have previously held the Quicken Loans.

The field this week is set to include headliner and host Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, the world’s No. 7-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings, Rickie Fowler (No. 8) and Jimmy Walker (No. 14).

Last year, Rose won the event with a par on the first hole of a playoff after Shawn Stefani hit his approach shot into the water on hole No. 18 at Congressional.

I am hoping Tiger shows a massive improvement, but I am not expecting anything different from him. Not until he starts playing more tournaments week in and week out.

Tiger What the heck is gonna do next. The man is an enigma golf performance wise. How he does is anyone's guess. People are still watching though. For now.

Until he starts winning again, I think some (including myself) feel that he is a "has-been".  Sometimes it's hard to know when that time has come, and I think - like David Duval, Ian Baker-Finch and others - Tiger may not be able to recover his form.  I would love to see him get back on the winning ways again to chase Jack's and Sam Snead's records.

Well, he needs to win just to get into the field at Firestone lol.  That's not gonna happen.  Hasn't he won there like 8 times too.

Will Willcox is going to be my pick to win this week.  I would at least like to see Tiger make the cut and not just become a ceremonial golfer.

Jhonattan Vegas, par 3 tee shot.

Such a beautiful view on that tee shot.

I don't think Tiger is done. I don't think he will be back at his best, but win tournaments and contend and maybe win majors? Yup.

The PGA Tour's paid subscription streaming service goes live tomorrow. They'll be streaming the early morning rounds of 2 groups (Woods on Friday) till Golf Channel starts up. Over the Top? That's what you're gonna call it? I know that's also a television/cable industry term, but not OTT.

Guess the free featured groups is gone and now they want you to pay.

What??

No more free featured groups for any tournaments?  That's a major bummer.

But it is only $5/month; that is not bad at all.  I was expecting $20 a month.

If they actually show marquee groups, this will be a cool service.

Not at his best - if winning tournaments and contending/maybe winning majors isn't his best then you really think that he could return to 2000, 2005 or even 2013.

Winning and contending at this point would be awesome and certainly better than we've seen in a couple of years .... I think Tiger fans should perhaps lower the threshold of succes circa 2016 (and yes I said 2016 because his season for 2015 is just about over.

Sad to see the free Live@ gone from pgatour.com, I don't have the time to watch Thur/Fri online but it was nice to catch a couple of 5-10 minute glimpses.

Players play, tough players win!

That means absolutely nothing at this point. He won the Open at St. Andrews too but see where that got him.

I have no idea what to expect from Tiger. Makes me sick to see where he's at now vs where he was. He was by light years my favorite athlete of all time. He still is. But it kills me seeing him like this. Ugh.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
