I have only played golf regularly for the last couple of years but by far my favorite aspect of the game is the social aspect. I like how indexes can level the playing field and make it fun each time out. The guy I love playing with the most is my father-in-law. I could play with him daily and never get sick of it. Our personalities just click and we have a blast. I am pretty pumped, my brother in law just bought a set of clubs and plans on playing with us and he is one of my best friiends so he will be another guy to play with. There is nothing worse than playing with a schmuck but I can't think of a better time than playing a round with your golfing buddy. Who is your golfing buddy?

That would have to be my youngest son - even though he's the $ @!%^  who got me hooked on this game.

He has such a calm demeanor yet is very serious and respectful towards the game. Always plays by the rules and practices proper course etiquette.

Neither of us are very talented and we don't talk much about mechanics or give one another advice. We debate the importance of the short game versus the full swing, discuss strategy, rules, rag on ourselves and each other, laugh at all the BS that life brings - that sort of conversation.

Any time spent with my sons is awesome. When that time is spent on the golf course, even better.

My Uncle. My favorite part of golf. I just took my 5 year old daughter out today and realized very quickly that I shouldn't be keeping my score lol.

That's pretty cool. Treat your wife well, good golfin buddies aren't easy to come by. My best friend is my favorite person to play with. He's got a great Bluetooth speaker and we jam and drink and generally have a good time. He shifts between 9 and 12 so I typically beat him (smoked him today by 18 strokes, he really struggled). But he was spanking me regularly during my slump last year. We never play for money or beer between us, we just have fun but often team up to play others in our group and usually do pretty well (we pushed with our opponents today). Anyway, cool idea for a thread.

Well, I use to play golf with my son in laws, but they got tired of losing their pocket change. After them it was my family doctor, but a recluse spider sent him on that ultimate journey we all will take sooner or later.  Now it is friends I worked with, and/or grew up with. Sometimes I meet new people who become new friends who enjoy the game. However, my all time favorite is my Grand Daughter. She likes golf because she can "just hang" with Grand Pa. That trip to the ice cream parlor afterwards might have something to with too. Plus, for her age, she is pretty good for no regular practice, or play regimen.

I play with my younger brother. We get out a few times a months during the season. it is our way of connecting, I see him much more often now that we golf together.

I got a number of different people that I'll play now and again.

One is the fellow that started me off on golf. He's a friend and a pretty good guy, but I tend to want to beat him a bit too much. He's a cheater and that pushes some buttons. Really I just need to take it a bit easier when I play him and not worry about results (especially his). We're playing tomorrow actually.

Another is a guy that plays really casually that is a massive extrovert. He's basically the exact opposite of me. He also likes to fluff his shots up, but I usually beat him so that doesn't bother me much.

My brother will usually consent to play once a month or so. He prefers nine holes, because it gets a bit frustrating for him after that.

Then there is a variety of people including TSTers that I'll see every once in awhile.

Two coworkers and a friend I've had for over 40 years makes up the other three in my foursome.

We play the game Wolf and give strokes to equalize things.  I've recently gotten them to start posting their scores so soon they'll have HI and we'll play off of that.  Most of the time we play 9 followed by breakfast.  The bet is on who buys breakfast.

We play every week and it's the highlight of my week.

I mostly play on my own. It's easier to coordinate schedules ;-) There is an older guy I play with once in a while. We play a $1 Nassau and it's usually a lot of fun, since we're both terrible golfers. We like to play at different times, though, so that can be a pain sometimes.

I have two groups of golf buddies ... got the old senior guys that I play with weekly ... they are consistent in their tee times/day ... so I call that the senior tour Then I have a group that I work with, and we play on and off. We have made many golf road trips ... the last one to Ireland ... and this group is more of party group. In group is a friend that might as well be my brother ... we play well together and know each others game well ... so that is a lot of fun.

I golf in many different circles.....  Friends, co-workers, and family to name a few.   My every weekend regular game is made up of fellow club members.  People I met at the course where I have my membership.  I play much, much more golf than the regular weekend group.   I also show up without a tee time and pair-up with others on a regular basis.  When I play late day/evening golf, it's always without a planned group.

I play with a few coworkers, but I'm much better than them (Yes even with a 34 index), and they only make it out once a month or so. My wife will join me occasionally, but no one I know can or wants to play as much as I do, so I mostly go solo. I have always had good experiences mixing in with random groups. All that said, I could really use some more golf buddies :-D
