I just got myself a SwingTalk. It is developed by GOLFZON. I might be a little late compared to all the people who got it earlier in the year and I'd have to say that I wouldn't have minded getting it as soon as it came out! Here’s a little review for those who might be debating whether to get this product or not. Hope it helps.

I’ll start off with some common issues that people might run into. Before you try anything with the device, make sure that it’s charged. I’m not sure about everyone else’s products, but mine came uncharged.

You can download SwingTalk application on google play or app store both. It’s essential to operate this gear and to check your swing instantly.

The package consists of a main device, a charging cable, and an instruction manual.

As you can see from the pictures, the device is very small and light. Installing is simple. Plug in the device into the tip of the club grip, turn it on by button on center, and pair it with your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. The device needs to be set firmly into the club. If it isn’t placed firmly, it may turn after a swing and can’t recognize the swing well. When I was browsing the information about SwingTalk, I came across with a video in YouTube. It’s the video about how to set up and use the SwingTalk. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sq-GjmRKy0 Well, it is easy to set up and use.

Here are some features that I want to point out.

It demonstrates graphically and by audio each swing's speed and tempo, and it also shows angle of club face. I am impressed by how it gives instant feedback after my every shot. When I take a swing I don’t like to watch my mobile that often because I would like to concentrate on my every single shot. The data of every shot of mine is quite accurate, and it helps identify deficiencies in my swings.

Club speed and detailed info display

For example, my club speed reached 96 mph in one of my shots and the SwingTalk told me this info immediately upon my every shot.

Shot data analysis

The accurate data of face to path and club path, shaft lean, cocking rate, face to address, face to path and club path are clearly shown on details.

Swing analysis (swing angle)

I also got the very precise info such as loft angle, lie angle and attack angle in my every shot. It’s dedicated by graphics as well on my statistics with 3D image.

Before using this analyzer, like other golfers, I just took every swing without knowing the results and I didn’t know whether my swings were accurate, but this analyzer shows the weaknesses of my swing by more accurate data with analysis. I believe my swings can be improved a lot with the “accurate” help of this analyzer.

It’s hard to say which feature is the most important, but I personally found the swing analysis and the swing test to be the most helpful features. As a casual golfer, I find consistency to be the most difficult factor to achieve. My swings don’t deviate much from my average at the driving range, but it goes wild on the field. Having an actual visual aid allows me to keep practicing to build consistency, and now I feel like I perform much better out on the field.

I don't trust any of those swing analyzers that goes into the butt end of the club. Too much needs to be extrapolated from the movement of one point. I just can't figure how it could be accurate.

Do not.-That is wise. They are not good at what they do. BTW- Word count of OP above - 585 words. Word count of ALL of the posts of the OP (11 others) in cumul. total - 41. Hmmmmm.-Take for what it is worth.

I watched a review of this on youtube and it was compared to GC2 with HMT for accuracy, the numbers were pretty close for the most part. It may not give you precise measurements but it'll give you some idea of what you are doing which is better than guessing or going by feel.

But not as good as a decent camera.

A camera can give you a decent approximation of club face angle at impact and swing speed? Not saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it does have some usefulness.

I don't think it can do either of those things very well. The sensor in my phone can't even tell which way I'm holding it sometimes. Tried to find the video you mentioned where they compare it with GC2 numbers but couldn't find it. Rick Shiels had a few reviews but made no head to head comparisons.

He did, at around the 6 minute mark in his review he compares the club head speed and face angles. The swing speed was off 1.4 mph and the face angle was off 0.9*.

it may be helpful to you about my swing details as below.

have more items I couldn't capture. seems it has more items than GC2 or at least same.

Vince, I am guessing some of these 'parameters' are harder to harness than others. For eg. club path maybe somewhat reliable but face angle to path could be +/- 10 % (-15.1 deg is major hook angle not just a draw, I would think but not sure) - how real is that? Which one's do you find useful?

Also, I am assuming YOU enter the goal for club head speed, yes?  Like Jeremy, I think there is usefulness in this but would fear if error in measurement would guide to unnecessary or even unwanted adjustment in swing.

Went back and looked and the video and he did sneak in a comparison on one shot. Wish he would have been a bit more thorough.

I agree, it would have been nice to see at least a few more comparisons.

I use a swingbyte2 which clips on to the shaft, it is very accurate when compared with an HMT, Some of the numbers are useless, but club face, swing path, and impact angle are pretty spot on, you'll need a good launch monitor for the rest. I think the best thing the swing byte does that the others don't is it takes and perfectly syncs videos with each swing automatically, you no longer have to scrub to where the practice swings and waggles end to see the real swing, so I can hit 20 balls with a 7 iron and then review all the data and videos individually.

Many thanks @sawyerg419 for writing the review. If you could put it in the equipment section here, http://thesandtrap.com/products/swingtalk-golf-swing-analyzer-with-voice-feedback-white It would really help other forum members when they are looking for reviews.

    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
