I like to play after work in the summer.  Tee off around 5 or 6pm and get in 18 holes.  I have 2 questions:  1) Can anyone recommended a belt that will not stain khaki shorts?  I have the run-of-the-mill leather belt but need a different material.  2) Can anyone recommend a breathable golf short?  I am looking for something that has a 10-11 inch inseam.  Thanks in advance.

These belts are awesome and won't stain.

And Adidas shorts from my experience are very breathable.

Avoid leather and try some canvas or web (canvas-nylon) belts.

Sources include Fossil Utility, Knot Clothing, Ali Express, and Nike (comes in five colors, about $20 each).

Those belts are great, but the red one did stain my shorts. I like the Next belts just a little bit better.

I think in normal temps I would've bee fine, but it was over 100 and I was sweating a lot.

Re: 2) Just bought Under Armour in Khaki and Navy Blue at Dillard's on sale if you have one close by. Very good weight for the heat and humidity here.

Another vote for the Mission Belts.  I have a black one and have had no staining issues, even with khaki/tan or white shorts - and this time of year here in the desert, every round of golf is in 100+ degree weather with plenty of sweating involved.

I have quite a few golf shorts.  Nike, Adidas, Puma.  The Adidas Climalite 3-stripe model are pretty thin and breathable material.  The Nike Dri-Fit are also lightweight and breathable material.  The Puma shorts seem to be constructed of a better, tighter weave material.  Also have a pair or two of Oakley shorts.  Also nice.  Ironically, the only place the shorts sweat are under my belt!  Don't think there is a solution if you choose a leather belt.  Guess it's time to look for the nylon webbing belts.

globalgolf.com and golflocker.com are both good online retailers to shop for golf shorts.  Most will list the inseam number for you in the product description.

Nothing beats ditching the cotton/canvas cargo shorts for REAL gear!

If you have a target store around you, check out their C9 golf shorts,,breathable and they have some stretch in them

Switch Belt best belt I've ever worn for any activity. Belt is rubber buckle is plastic can walk right through security without removing it.
