Hey all, I've been a lurker on this forum for the entire length of my golf career (just over 2 months haha) but have never posted. Well, this past Saturday I accidentally made a shot worthy of a first post. Like I said I've been playing golf for 2 months, and my handicap is about a 25. I played terrible on the front 9, shooting something like a 49. Then, on the back 9 I started getting it together a little. On the 13th hole, a par 3, I was optimistic about the rest of my round, hoping to use it as a chance to grind it out and learn something. The hole ranged 129 to the front of the green, 145 to the pin. I pulled out my 9 iron, which would be the typical club for the situation. Following the order of scores from the last hole, I tee off last per usual. 2 folks on the green, one man slightly off the side. So, I set my ball down, take my practice swings and, feeling confident in my shot, proceed to hit the ball slightly fat and short of the green. As I cuss the poor contact I just made, one of my partners makes the statement "well it's right on line at least." That wasn't much consolation, but I do catch a glimpse of the ball bouncing up onto the green through the bright sunset. Happy that my ball had ended up past the water hazard and on the green despite my poor shot, I grabbed my putter and walked onto the green and started looking for my ball. I look on the green, I cuss. I look off the back of the green, I cuss. So finally, it occurs to me to check in the hole. 2 months and 5 days after the first time I ever played golf, I make my first hole-in-one. Long story short, after taking pictures and celebrating, we make it to the next hole and although I had set the ball aside, through the excitement, I SOMEHOW managed to tee off with the hole-in-one ball. As the ball begins hooking into the rough I realize the mistake I had just made. I searched and I searched. I gave up my round and told my buddies to play on without me. I had lost my treasure. (So I thought.) Well every good story has a happy ending and eventually, right at dark, I found my hole-in-one ball. I was ecstatic as you can imagine, and this time managed to make it home with the ball. I've ordered a shadow box and engraved plate for it that will sit on my wall for years to come. Thanks for reading, and I hope y'all have as much luck in your next round as I've had.

That's awesome! Hope you stick with it.

Been shooting lower and lower, but have yet to even make a birdie.

Man I plan on sticking with it, I'm definitely obsessed with it. All my best friends have been playing for years and I finally tried it or for myself. I made my first birdie a week before the hole-in-one and then the next day was on the green in two on a short par 5 and lipped out an 8 foot eagle putt for my second birdie

Good job, nice story. Keep it up. Contact the ball or club company online to see they offer a hole in one bag tag. A few I know do.

I will take the low road... (tongue in cheek)

Wow, that's just freaking fantastic. How great. 2.5 months and you get a hole in one. I have only been at it for 40+ years and had approximately 15,000 chances at it so surely my day must come soon. But today is the day to celebrate YOUR 'accomplishment'. I couldn't be freaking happier for you kid. I can't stop grinning from ear to ear after hearing of your hole in one after so many days of trying. Here's mud in your eye {grumble, grumble, grumble}.

Now let me strap the helmet back on and get back to it.

Thank y'all haha. Definitely was beginners luck and not because of some great shot. I hit it with a TM Rocketbladez 9 iron and TM penta TP5 golf ball so I'll contact them and see if they offer anything like that. that would be awesome.

Haha luckily it happened later in the afternoon when almost everybody was gone so I only had to buy a few.

Well sorry we missed it, but they put a picture of you in the paper!

AMAZING - I wouldn't have believed it unless I seen it. I got three hole in ones yesterday. So what if it was while I went to a putt-putt course with the wife. Doesn't that still count?

On a more serious note, I have a good friend who is a four handicapper. He has played golf now for over 40 years, and has won tournaments. These days, he is retired and lives on a golf course in Florida. He either golfs everyday, or is at the practice range hitting balls. With all the golf this man has played, he says he has never gotten a hole in one, but has many eagles in his pocket.

As far as my own golfing, I too have never got a hole in one, but I did have one of my drives come to rest an inch and a half from the cup on a 155 yd par 3. That's as close as I have ever came, and it's good enough on any day.

After my (only) hole-in-one, I promptly teed off on the next hole and sliced a drive right into a water hazard.  It was at that point I realized that I never put the ball away.

Literally while the ball was in the air, one of the guys playing with me said, "That's not the hole-in-one ball, is it?"...

...cue sinking feeling.  Oops.

Now if you found it in a bucket of Range balls would you take it? :-D

Did it yesterday playing a small business competition. 150y par 3, wind from the left. Because the teebox was a bit higher than the green, I was thinking I7 or hy6. Draw against the wind, so took the hy6.

Good swing, good contact and one of the other guys said 'ohoh, not too long?' And I said 'no, thats a good one'. Ball hits the ground, one bounce and in the hole. :banana::banana:

I went completely nuts. First hio ever.
