Well considering that I have trouble throwing an old pair away, unless they have holes in them. I have about 7 pairs.

glad i'm not the only one that has this problem... :-) i still have a couple pairs with metal cleats hanging around... :~( i think i have more pairs of shoes than the number of rounds i've played in the last 2 years (golf severely cut back last 18 months due to physical woes).... that's not good....

I only have one pair. They are 15+ years old, and still look like new. I think I have only changed the spikes once since I have had them.  I only wear golf shoes when the course is slippery. Since we are in prolonged drought conditions out west, I never see any slippery conditions. I walk 99% of my rounds, and a good, comfortable pair of walking shoes works just fine.

Also I find that a little slippage during the golf swing is not really a bad thing. Saves on wear and tear on the knees, and the back. Of course that is open to debate, but I have it on good authority that it's not a bad thing.

I have 5 pairs.  3 of which I never use.  When I get on my wife about her shoe addiction I have to remind myself why I have so many shoes for golf.  I walk alot so I wear my Tiger ones alot.  When I ride in a cart I have a pair of Footjoy's.

Comes down to it, I really only need 2 pairs.  Probably will donate the other 3 after this golf season is over.

I posted a "little" slippage, and of course it is open to debate. Pretty sure a "little" slippage would benefit those golfers with body parts not physically fit for the golf swing. The idea of taking away  excessive twisting of the lower back, knees, and other bone joints would help in preventing some injuries. Several years ago, when Woody was working with Harmon, there was quite a bit of talk about the amount of twisting Woody was putting his body through with the type of swing he was using at that time. The talk was he would eventually have physical problems with his back, knees, and ankles. I slip a little, and my back is just fine after several decades of playing golf.

Hey what ever works for you. With a handicap index of 9.4 I guess I would not worry to much about slippage either.

4 pair in the rotation and a pair of golf sandals. I try and rotate so that I get 3 years out of each pair.
