A quick scan through Callaway, TM, Titleist, Ping and Mizuno sites revealed the following:

A current production model 2 iron for $0-40? Not going to happen for a name brand. Price was about $150 for most 2 irons, and north of $200 for the utility irons in 2-iron lofts.

As for a 1i, only production model I found was a 16º TaylorMade Tour Preferred UDI. It's 2i brother was 18º. TM also has an RSiTP 2i, 17º.

Callaway had an Apex Utility 2i, loft 18º and the longest shaft, 40". Apex Pro also has an 18º 2i, with 39.5" shaft.

Titleist has two 2 irons with 18º loft and 39.5" shafts: 714 CBForged, and 712 U.

I saw no 2 irons from Ping or Mizuno; Mizuno offers no FLI-HI irons in the current year.

Focus, connect and follow through!

Any 3 iron made in the last 10 years is basically a 2 iron.

I just got the Taylormade Tour Preferred UDI 2-iron and it's a great club!  If anyone still likes hitting 18* irons, I suggest trying it.  It has enough weight behind it too to make a forgiving strike if miss-hit.  But, it goes a long way, even in the wind.  Definitely a lot of fun!
