Who do you think will win?

http://www.golfchannel.com/news/golf-central-blog/inkster-selects-creamer-lang-captains-picks/

Quote:

That’s why Creamer joined Brittany Lang as the two captain’s picks named Monday to the U.S. Solheim Cup team that will meet the Europeans next month in Germany.

U.S. Solheim Cup captain Juli Inkster filled out her 12-woman roster in a Golf Channel telecast, naming Creamer to her sixth consecutive team despite Creamer’s struggles this year. Inkster named Lang to her fourth team.

“These are the two players that best fit what we’re trying to do,” Inkster told GolfChannel.com before going on the air Monday night.

Creamer, 29, created some angst Friday, missing the cut at the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open with team qualifying concluding, assuring that for the first time in her career she wouldn’t gain one of the 10 automatic roster spots. The fact that Creamer struggled to an 81, ensuring her third consecutive missed cut, caused much handwringing, but Inkster saw what others weren’t seeing. She saw what Creamer’s heart for the Solheim Cup means.

On Saturday near Vancouver Golf Club, site of the Canadian Women’s Open, Inkster and Creamer met for a heart-to-heart talk at “The Keg,” a restaurant bar in the area. They talked over a glass of wine, maybe two, Inkster said. For 90 minutes, they talked about golf, the Solheim Cup and life.

Inkster said she left feeling confident Creamer was the right choice to join Lang.

“I wanted to know where she was at mentally and physically,” Inkster said. “I went with my gut. I really believe in her. The team believes in her. I think she’s earned the right to prove herself, and I wanted to give her a shot to do that.”

Inkster heard everything she wanted to hear from Creamer.

“I feel like she’s not as lost as everyone thinks she is,” Inkster said. “She has a lot of confidence in herself, and that’s what I wanted to hear. I wanted to hear she still believes in herself. That was pretty much the deciding factor. There were no tears. No woe is me. She was very outspoken and very honest with me, and I felt like this could really turn her game around.”

Eight Americans made the team off the final U.S. points list: Stacy Lewis , Lexi Thompson , Cristie Kerr , Michelle Wie , Brittany Lincicome , Morgan Pressel , Angela Stanford and Gerina Piller . Two Americans made it off the Rolex world rankings list: Alison Lee and Lizette Salas .

http://www.supersport.com/Golf/womens-golf/news/150825/Koch_names_Europes_2015_Solheim_Cup_picks

European Captain Carin Koch has made her four picks for this year’s Solheim Cup matches in Germany, naming Caroline Hedwall, Karine Icher, Caroline Masson and Catriona Matthew to complete her 12-woman team.

All four players enjoyed a record 18-10 victory representing Europe in the 2013 match at Colorado Golf Club in the United States of America. They are now heading to Golf Club St.Leon-Rot near Heidelberg for the 2015 matches on 18-20 September where they will face Juli Inkster’s United States team.

Carin Koch, who will lead Europe for the first time, commented: “We’ve got a great mixture of youth and experience which really excites me as Captain. Each of our players has a role to play and I have a team of stars. Now the team is finalised we can all have full focus for the week in Germany and I can’t wait to see the players together at Golf Club St Leon-Rot.”

The next Ladies European Tour event is the Helsingborg Open where Hedwall will make a star appearance in her home town in Sweden. All 24 members of the European and United States teams will then play in the Evian Championship in France before travelling directly to Germany for The Solheim Cup.

THE EUROPEAN TEAM:

Carlota Ciganda, Spain

Sandra Gal, Germany

Caroline Hedwall, Sweden

Charley Hull, England

Karine Icher, France

Caroline Masson, Germany

Catriona Matthew, Scotland

Azahara Muñoz, Spain

Gwladys Nocera, France

Anna Nordqvist, Sweden

Suzann Pettersen, Norway

Melissa Reid, England

Creamer may not be a great pick right now, but I sure am happy about it, she's stunning and will most certainly help ratings, hottest babe on tour.

Ugh. Terrible choices for the US. Seems she went on career record rather than current form which is a huge mistake in my opinion. Creamer hasn't really competed in recent memory. For me to pick her I would have made it mandatory that she made the cut at the Canadian event.

Lang is decent match play golfer which makes her choice slightly more reasonable, but she also has not been on any leaderboards lately.

I wouldn't call Creamer "stunning". She's has more of a cute next door girl look. With regards to her pick, I think it's a bad choice given the state of her game. For the same reason, I wouldn't pick Tiger Woods for the Ryder Cup.

Paula was a safe pick; she was just outside the points list and has a lot of experience. Inkster won't get too much flack if she flops because really, who else could she have gone with, Austin Ernst? I believe Michelle Wie definitely moves the needle for the LPGA. Obviously not to the degree Tiger or Phil do for the PGA but if Wie is contending, it's a ratings boon for them. I'll watch. Go USA!

And the biggest phony on the LPGA too.....lol.

Creamer's 81 last Friday to go trunk slamming really supported Juli's pick...lol.

At least Juli can now delegate the ribbons, face paint and nail polish decisions to The Pink One.

And who knows how much Paula was riding her partner's back in 4ball and 4somes in the 2 recent Solheims.

In singles play.....Paula was dismantled 6&5 by Catriona in 2011 and Charley Hull destroyed Creamer in 2013.

Ole Ole....the Euros are luvin it.

Not nice. Creamer has always seemed nice and quite genuine. I'm not sure why you don't like her.

Picking Euro's to win. More than the players I think Inkster is the weak link. Everything I've seen from her in interviews is very odd. More excited for SC than PC wearing my 2013 SC shirt from 2013 SC Colorado GC today.

Only my observations at events.

I'm not the only one with similar opinion...the below is from another golf forum....www.4gea.com

"I agree with DB (POSTCARD). My wife and I and another couple attended the International matches at Caves Valley, Md. last year. We were waiting on the 10th T box along with several women from the Boston area when Kerr and Creamer approached the T box. The opposing Asian players and not yet arrived at the T. The women chanted.. USA – USA … neither of our players looked at them or acknowledged their support in anyway. NOTE: that there were no TV network cameras present. When the cameras were on - they played to them.
We have also notice that Wie behaves as if she were a fashion model on the course and not a player. She received big endorsement money years ago for doing nothing – won the US open at Pinehurst with the play books given to her by Fowler and Bradley. We golfers know that is huge – what an advantage to have. Here in my household we turn down the volume when the camera focuses on Wie – we already know the announcers are going to make some sort excuse for her or praise her for making par. If I had a daughter who aspired to be on the LPGA I would send her to South Korea for instruction. No frills .. no excuses … just golf."

Mostly because they can't figure out if they are on a catwalk or golf course. I am sure that seems sexist but I was disappointed the US team didn't show up last SC. They need to come in with games faces on not prom faces.

There are no real locker room leaders on the US team.

Do you remember when wildcard, rookie and captain's pick, Ryann O'Toole, was teamed up with Stacy Lewis in 2011 to get Lewis out of her funk....where were the veterans to pair Lewis up with?

They US team room in 2013 in Colorado looked like a day care center......kids posters, candy, teddy bears, etc...it was laughable.

The Euro team like had a fully loaded bar and pool table with cheerleader, Laura Davies, leading the tequila shooters and beer boat races....lol.
