End of August 2016, do you think your handicap will be better, worse or about the same?

Post your prediction and let us know why. Predict what you think your handicap will really be, not what you hope it will be ;-)

Not sure, the same I suppose since I am pretty close to giving up golf. Actually I won't have one because I don't intend to renew.

I predict it will be lower. I haven't had as much time to play in 2014 and 2015 as I did in 2012 and 2013. My index was 10.9 then. It's 12.8 today. I should have more time to play this fall and winter and expect my handicap to drop back down in the 10-11 range.

I am projecting my self playing to a 1.5 by August 2016. Though my goal is to be a scratch player by that time.

18.8 now, next GHIN will be somewhere between 17.5 - 18.5.   End of 2015 goal was 16.   Revised 2015 goal is 12.5 after earlier success (got HI down to 16+) got to my head - conned myself good on that one.   12.5 by end of 2015 ain't gonna happen.

End of 2016, I see my HI lower by 2 points to 15 - 16 range.   That's my realistic view.   I have no low hanging fruits to improve my golf game and it will continue to be 2 steps forward and one step back.  Steady as she goes.

Lower. It's been dropping steadily as my swing improves; I also got a properly fit putter which is sure to help. We'll see. Aug 15 2015 handicap is 14.1; I don't know Sept 1 2015 yet.

17.9 now, hope to be in the 13-14 range by next year. Finally convinced myself to keep my swing in control after 3 years of trying to achieve distance the wrong way. Hoping to get back to consistently in the 80s, and flirt with breaking it again (sadly the first-and only-time was 20 years ago).

Lower. I was a 14 at this time last year. Some major mechanical issues in full swing have been resolved this year and resulted in significant progress.

I don't know really, since the low hanging fruit is getting thin.. but some unexpected improvement is coming from the putting quarters and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if another 2 shots will have disappeared by this time next year.

I voted lower.  26 HCI by next year at this time.

Over this past year my swing has slowly improved, putting has improved and most definitely my decision making has improved.  If I can continue to improve my swing I don't see why I can't have an HCI in the mid 20's by this time next year.

Well, I don't have a golf handicap yet, plan on signing up through my home course for a subscription that offers discounts on several courses in the area and a golf handicap tool is included.  Right now I have nowhere to go but down from what I have played, as I shot a 135 and a 141 being I am brand spanking new to the game pretty much.  I hope to get closer to 110 strokes on a par 72 by this time next August and think that is very possible with all the things I need to improve on that lessons and time can bring.

Mine will be lower for sure. Need to get more roundsbin, but im thinking sub 18 is well within sight.

Lower. The biggest thing holding me back from scoring better is losing balls off the tee and I've already begun to make the changes necessary to fix that. Scoring in the mid to high 80s is perfectly within reason if I can keep the ball in play and out of significant trouble (I've already seen that a few times this year), so I'm going to I'm going to predict 12.0

I am thinking it will stay about the same, "if" I continue to play right handed. If I get my left handed swing dialed in, I am thinking it will be around a 12.  Right now, after a month or so, playing/practicing  left handed, I am around an 18. Dropping 6 strokes in a year, I think,  would be an obtainable goal for me.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
