Why do my drives hit the fairways and stop?

They go about 260-270 carry and hit the fairways and stop or even go backwards.  I live up north and the fairways aren't hard.  Anyways to change this?

I feel your pain. I am a up north and get similar distance with no role. My ball just hits and stops. Always thought it was the ridiculous launch angle and Corresponding height.

I have a crazy across the line and horrible right elbow that is pointing behind me.

If you are getting little to no roll then you put too much spin on the ball. Check out these threads. Primarily you need to stop hitting down on the ball.

Soft squishy public courses with less than manicured fairways? That's what I see here due to dry conditions, only the greens are mown real tight. Our fringe is 70's shag carpet long. My ball doesn't drop dead but I don't fly my drives as high as my other clubs. Less about trying to roll it than that is the shot I can somewhat control without huge directional misses.

I'd almost be more willing to believe your 380 yard drives than 270 yards backing up? That would be over 8000rpm of spin.

I took this advise on the course last night.

Tee'd it a little lower, My usual tee is 1/4 to 1/2 above the crown. Set up in just inside left toe, hit on the upswing.

This time I tee'd to the middle of the face with the ball not going past the crown.

I was getting good distance and some roll, course was wet.

Might have to keep this up.

I heard you should tee it higher, play it more forward, and try to have the clubs loft go down towards the ball(forgot what that is called)  How do you do that?

@saevel25 linked two great threads that you should read that would answer your questions and clear up a misconception. You do not want to hit down with the driver, but instead swing up and through the ball with the driver. It's a unique club in that regard.

Go check out the links provided earlier in the thread and see if those help, as well as posting a swing video. We can give plenty of advice to you, but without seeing your swing in a proper video it is hard to tell if the advice is correct for what you need.
