Last Sunday, I was fortunate enough to be by myself, with a cart, behind no one. I managed to finish 18 holes in 1 hour and 49 minutes. I also managed to loose a sleeve of balls in the great autumn conditions, as well.

I'm with Norm66, I think about 2:45 to 2:30 is about the fastest I've ever played 18 holes. Any faster than that, and I'd be making horrible shots every time. At 1:49 you are averaging 6 minutes per hole. That sounds a little too hurried for me. I could see getting closer to the 2 hour mark at a really short course, but anything less than that is really pushing it for me.

I don't remember the exact times, but I have played numerous rounds in around 1hr-45minutes to 2 hrs. I had the same conditions; cart, completely open in front of me, etc. I know the course very well and I wasn't rushing. I just got a good rhythm going.

I once did 36 holes in just under 4 hours. It was a cold rainy day in April, so the course was completely empty.

I was keeping a pretty strong pace, but by no means rushing.

Theres a little 5400 yard par 69 course around here that I can play in about 2 hours. It's a little run down, but at $14 all you can golf it makes a great place for practice.

I have played 18 walking in 2.5 hours and twice around a flat executive in just over 2 before. On a course that requires me to hit good shots It takes me about 3. Both of these courses were 0 on the shot value and green reading difficulty.

Wow... and you're only an hour or so from me. SJV is near Rancho Cucamonga, right? I'd love to give that course a go.

As for me, I rarely get a chance to play quickly. I keep up with the group ahead of me, but the fact of the matter is that I play on L.A. Municipal courses, so I don't have a chance to have the room out in front of me. But I did play in 4 hours in Palm Desert earlier this year. Jim Thorpe played in 2:35 last Thursday and shot a 64; he went on to win the tournament. I realize I'm not him, but it's fun to say.

I can't wait to ask the same group which tees off first every saturday morning(they do so because from Oct 1-March30 there are no booked times and these fellows have no problem showing up at the course at 6am.only to tee off at first light, which is 7:30am.1st. come first served, anyways..... they play in 3hours/45 mins. BUT my foursome teed off first this last saturday only because early birds were a no show and we played in 2hours/55mins.first group should set the pace and ...end of story.Cheers Flash

The fastest I can possibly play 18 while still enjoying myself is 3 hours. Thats walking, I never use a cart unless I am playing with a pregnant friend (happens more than you would think.)

I live 2.9 miles from Whispering Woods. I've had tee times at 7:50am and been back at my computer by 10:00am. So... 2 hours tops.

the fastest I have ever played 18 holes is 50 minutes.. Yes that is not an error. 50 minutes for 18 holes. I shot a 74 on par 71. I was the asst pro and would close the shop and go out after the course was closed. I would take a cart and never pull the flag. Would hit a shot and start driving almost as soon as it landed. I know that is extreme but I am a FIRM believer in that golfers would score better if they played faster and did not think so much over ever shot. Line up look once at target and swing.

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.
    • 43 (6 over) Couple bogies, couple Pars, a birdie and no doubles. Not bad for first 9 of the year.
    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
