This weekend I'm playing with three other guys who all shoot in the mid-90s. I shoot around 80. They want to gamble and I of course will agree. Got any fun games we can play. I don't want to just give 4 strokes a side or something to make it even. That gets a little boring for me.

Any suggestions?

Just play wolf or some variation of that. Each hole a guy is the wolf and he can either pick a guy that just drove or go by himself if he thinks he can beat the other 3.

I personally don't like gambling because you get into the giving someone shots deal. Play straight up and see who wins is my way to play golf.

personally, i wouldn't play wolf. The better player always ends up paying the other three. Not sure why, but it always works out that way when i play.

I'm partial to Vegas. You can fairly play, while giving strokes, and so long as you shoot well, should the dough. It goes like this:

All 4 players tee off. The 2 farthest left (using a line from the center of the fairway to the tee) become partners against the 2 on the right for that hole only. After holing out, you and your partners scores make up a 2-digit number, the low score being first. If you shoot a 4 and your partner shoots a 6/net 5, then your team score is 45. If the other teams score is 46, then you and your partner win 1 point. If they shoot 55, then you guys get 10 points. Then you repartner on the next hole.

I've heard people play this for a dollar a point but my friends just play for dimes. Trust me, it adds up fast. And it makes you finish the hole in respectable fashion.

Have fun.

Poker?

Take a deck of cards out with you. Everyone antes up and gets dealt 2 cards on the first hole. Scoring on each hole will either get you another card or require you to add to the pot. Best hand after 9 wins then ante up again at the turn.

Scoring options are par or putts or whatever you might think of.
eg. Par (handicapped or otherwise)
Birdie or better - get a card.
Par - check
Bogie (or worse) - pay in again.

Putts (better as a side game)
1 putt- get a card
2 putts - check
3 jack - pay in again.
