I beat golf!

Today I showed golf who's the boss. I played in the Friday Skins game at Coto De Caza and kicked the course (at least the back nine) in the ass! Shot a 4 under 68 on the South Course. 7 birdies in total, 6 of them on the back. I didn't have a putt outside of ten feet on the back. Two of the birdies were practically tap-ins. Missed three, made the rest. The birdie on 14 to make it four in a row was an "impossible chip" (from what my playing partners said after the round in the bar.) It was a short-sided flop from a slightly down hill lie and medium rough. Trickled right into the hole.

A couple shots: First is the scorecard. Second is a shot from the 18th looking up to the clubhouse/main building.

Oops, that's supposed to be a "2" with a circle not a "3" on the 4th hole.

Well played Ben! I keep hearing great things about CDC, but I never can manage to get there on the rare days when public can play. It looks gorgeous from that picture you posted.

Yeah, it's two really really nice golf courses. The South is the easier of the two, but still, not very easy. I was really stoked about my play today. The guys in my group were going crazy watching me do this, they were really pumping me up feeding my confidence making me want to do better and perform for them. And I did. The birdie on 13 I hit an 8 iron from a fairway bunker to about 4 inches. Practically holed it. That was the only fairway I missed.

I forgot to mention the other part of the game today. They play a two player net best ball and blind draw the partners at the end of the day. My blind draw partner was Teemu Selanne, from the Anaheim Ducks. Unfortunately he did nothing for our team.

Wow, very nice Ben, only two bogeys? That's extremely impressive. I gotta question though, why in the world don't you play from the blacks? At a +2, isn't it kinda a standard?

Normally I'd play the blacks, but I was playing in a set game by their rules. In all actuality the Gold tees were set up closer to the Black markers then to the Gold on a majority of holes.

Thanks albatroz. A more realistic goal for me is to be on Japan's tour next year.

Congrats on a fabulous round! I'm guessing a new career low? Careful about 'beating golf' the Gods have funny ways of returning the favor.

I don't think it's a career low, I think he posted one time about shooting a 7 under or something like that.
