Ernie Els is gonna come good in this one I feel. Although, needs to step on it a bit in round 2!

I feel Els is at a mini crossroads in his career right now; it's important he doesn't stagnate after this knee problem. I hate saying it, but I feel he almost uses it as an excuse, sub-conciously of course, in some interviews he does at times. He needs to leave it in the past and solely focus on this season.
Rory Sabbatini is the round one leader so far, will he pull a Davis Love circa 2006 and go from leading to miss the cut?
I think both he and Phil had the kind of day where a lot of your long putts drop, and I don't expect them to keep it up.

Tiger, on the other hand, can't seem to get anything started, and at +3, he'll probably push and grind too much to get into contention. He should make the cut, but I think I was wrong about him winning. I should have known - 3 of 6 means he will not win this week, but will win the next time he plays to go 4 for 8. Right? :-)

Great column Cody, nice insight from all the guys. I have to question the fact that 2 guys are picking Sergio Garcia as their dark horse winner. I don't know if there is anyone who is less of a dark horse other than say Tiger and Phil. Don't get me wrong, I agree that it would be a surprise, but isn't a dark horse supposed to be someone who is kind of unexpected? Sergio has been hyped as much as just about any other player in golf and has puked on himself every time he gets the chance!

I don't know if it is a knock on those picking Sergio as a dark horse or a knock on Sergio himself for being considered a dark horse by anyone. Who knows, but I'm sure we all agree that unfulfilled potential should be embroidered on his bag!
