I talked to Duval's coach the Tuesday after the open was over and he said that he is pretty close to getting back to his 1999-2001 form. After bouncing around for a number of years, Duval is back with the teacher he started with so let's hope that he can keep up that form.

It is very difficult to have predicted this year's US Open by just looking at the 'form book' heading into this event. The weather had an unusually strong influence on the outcome of this tournament.

The Thursday AM group got the worse of the weather and gave up an average of 3-4 shots to the Thursday PM group. The stats showed a difference in scoring average by 2+ shots in Round 1 and over 1 shot in Round 2.

No surprise then that only 13.6% or 3 of the top 22 finishers were from the Thursday AM group. But, as the French say - c'est la vie.
