  2. I have had two very good shots both at the same hole. Hole 7 of our course is a par 5 that starts off with an elevated tee box and then goes uphill from 275 yards and in. I hit my drive to the 250 mark and then chunked my next shot from the uphill lie 100 yards. I am now 150 yards uphill with the pin in the back so I am playing this for about 175. I hit a 5 wood smoothly and I see it go over the green and bounce on the hill behind the green. I walk up to the green and check behind the hill and no ball, I check left of the hill and no ball. Finally I say to myself that I will walk by the hole and sure enough the ball is in for my second eagle. Next morning the same pin placement I am about 125 yards from the hole and put my shot off the same bank to about 2 feet and hole it for birdie. I asked the guys to keep the pin placement there all the time but they keep insisting on changing it.
  3. The two things that I have wanted forever have been mentioned. Give me Phil in the game and please give me a course creator. I remember years ago that Jack Nicklaus had a PC game that allowed you to create your own courses. Creating the course was as fun as playing the game. I know I could and would spend hours and days on end creating my home course and some other that I have played often.
  4. My xBOX gametag is billinga. I will be picking up the game at some point this week.
  5. If golf is way cheaper than poker, you are playing poker all wrong. My golf addiction has limited my poker play severely which is costing me money every week since I am a ton better at poker than I am at golf.
  6. I am so spoiled now I think 4.5 hours is much too long for a round. Most of my rounds are done in 3.5 or less. It would have to be Pebble Beach for me to sit through a 6 hour round.
  7. I thought they were going to name that bunker after myself since I am in it so often. Every time I try to aim a little more right I then pull it even more severely right. The last three rounds though I have missed it.
  8. We have them but they are few in number. The two that I get into all the time are on hole 5 which has a fairway bunker that is 100 yards long (no I am not kidding). It runs down the left side of the hole and I am in there probably 50% of the rounds I play. The second one is across a creek on hole 7 which is a par 5. It is a small one but appears strategically placed to screw me.
  9. I think electric carts are the way to go as well. I do not really care about the custom designs, but give me better functionality. I would like comfortable seats and backs. A sensor that stops the cart if your foot is out. Make the back of these where the club storage is wider and deeper. Anyone who has tried to put two of the Bag Boy revolving bags would know how much that is needed. Cellphone storage is a great idea. I am trying to campaign for our club to put golf ball and golf club cleaners on every cart. Our carts have protection for your clubs in the rain but they do not have cleaners. That does not make any sense to me.
  10. That guy needs to lighten up. So someone is a little bit different than me, what is the big deal? I would hate to live in that gray world where everyone has to look the same. It is not like he is trying to wear cutoff jeans and a tank top to an event. A funny thing though happened a couple of weeks ago when I was watching golf. I was half paying attention when my wife commented, "there is a girl playing golf with the men?". I told her that it has happened before, but to my knowledge it is not happening this week. She insisted that she saw a girl playing and then showed me when "she" showed up again. Sure enough it was our boy Fowler dressed all in pink. Not a color that I can pull off, but good for him.
  11. I go to the range at least a couple times a week at our club and it is usually for an hour. My 11 year old son gets mad at me if we do not practice for at least an hour before every round that we play. He likes to work on every aspect of his game before playing. We usually will warm up with some short irons, then work towards drives, then go hit pitches and bunkers before putting.

  13. I actually played Shingle Creek this week since I was at a conference in town. I was very impressed by the course and it was in awesome condition. The service there was great and it did not hurt that I shot my best front 9 ever (a 44 thanks to a chip in for birdie on 9) though I screwed it up with a 51 on the back.
  14. I have heard many cool reception to the Move with this game. I think to be fair you need to give it a couple of releases before you expect it to be as good as the Wii version with the swing accuracy. The same could be said for xBox if/when they come out with a Kinect version.
