  1. I dont have an official handicap but at the start of the year i was shooting high 90's so i'd guess ~25 handicap. Tracked my scores and did the official method of calculating the handicap and at the final round my handicap was a 14.7. Good year for no lessons.
  2. My last Blue Collar par was when i took clients from Columbia out to play. The hole was a par 4, said 370 but was playing like 350 and all way down hill. I cream my drive and i'm about ~25 yards from the green. The pin is in the back and I hit my chip thin and go way over. Next shot i'm probably 20 yards away and again I hit it thin but it stays on the green about 30 feet from the hole. I sink the putt.

    Hit by a ball!

I've been hit twice. First I was caddying about 6 years ago. The golfers i was carrying for had already teed off so i was not watching. A ball gets hit right at us as i'm taking a drink of gatorade and i get hit right in the leg on the fly. I finished the round but boy did that hurt. About a month ago i'm playing a round with friends. I'm standing on the green waiting for my friends to come up. I'm watching the one person hit up and the other person though it was his turn. He hits up and it hits me right in the hip. That really stung. During this season, i guess about 5/6 weeks ago, i hit a kid in the head. It was windy and cloudy. My 2nd shot into a par 5 and i miss judged the distance. I though it was like 220 downhill but it was really 200 downhill. My shot started my typical draw but because of the clouds i didn't see it was was hooking. It caught the trees and came in right on the tee box at which point i hear a really loud "OW". We get up there and I apologize and the kid even help me look for the ball. I felt terrible but he was a good sport.
  4. My funniest shot was probably earlier this year. I was teeing off with my 3 iron for lack of driver confidence. I guess i swung just a little to hard and i heeled the ball, it goes through my legs right over my buddies head who is using the ball washer and into the stream behind us. He wasn't paying attention and and was like "WTF was that?" Me and my other friend were cracking up. For about the next 3 or 4 rounds they always made sure to stand way behind me. One of my friends were teeing off on number 9 a 500 yard par 5. We were playing the blue's and he hits a sweet shot but it came off a little low. It hits the ball washer about 20 yards up and left and came right back at him. He catches the ball, checks it for scuff marks and retees the ball, and hits again. The rest of us were cracking up.
  5. I most certainly would have called the person on it. Even though he claims its his friends club which it could have been, he would have noticed on the first hole that it should not be there. I notice instantly when there is something extra or missing from my bag. Its just a feeling you have with your equipment.
  6. THE THREE-CLUB GOLF BET World Series champ and betting legend Huck Seed once took a six figure bet that he could break 100 on a desert golf course, four times in one day, using just a five iron, sand wedge and putter. To make it even tougher, the other guy was able to pick the day. Naturally, he waited till the Vegas mercury spiked up to 120 degrees, but Seed ran the course all day and made his scores after six rounds. This really happened.
  7. Personally i would play that format this way: Shorter par 4's from the blue's Par 5's and longer Par 4's from the red's Par 3's and anything left over from the whites.
  8. I never really wrote down my goals which i guess i should have because i can't really remember them. All i remember was i wanted to break 90 which came very quickly. So I revised it and wanted to break 80 which i almost did a couple times. I shot one 81 and two 82's. I guess i would give myself a B+ for the season.
  9. At a course i play often, there is an uphill par 4 listed at 297. I have driven this green to many times to count and put a few over the green. About 2 weeks into the season, someone aced it. I've also been very close to driving a 340 par 4 at the same course. Multiple times I've been under 6 feet from the front of the green but never put it on. I think the yardages are messed up at the course though.
  10. I can not remember my first eagle but i remember my most recent eagle. It was earlier this season. The hole is about a 60 degree dogleg right. Its only about 180 to the dog leg but quite tough to cut the angle because its going over dense trees. But i take a 5 iron and hit it perfect right over the trees leaving me about ~240 to the green. I take my 3 iron and hit it perfect but a little to the right. The ball landed in the rough and bounced left into the fairway about 30 yards short. I take my lob wedge and hit i perfect shot, it rolls about 10 feet and right in the cup. I couldn't believe it. Then about 7 holes later, my playing partner gets his first eagle, on a par 4. He hit an OK drive down the right side, about 70 yards from the green. I'm not sure what he hit but he slammed dunked the ball. I couldn't believe it. He was flipping out and the guys on the tee behind us were yelling. It was amazing.
  11. We usually play skins or team best ball. I have 2 friends that basically gamble on everything you can. They do a Nassau, FIR, GIR, Closest to the Pin on par 3's and putts. They easily exchange a couple hundred a round.
  12. I know your feeling. I bought all new clubs this year and i was playing the best golf I've played since freshman year high school, and i get in a car accident and develop some complications. Almost 2 months this year i could not play.
  13. I have walked of plenty of times for extremely slow play. I actually walked off last weekend and demanded a 9 hole refund because the greens were in terrible shape. They were basically dirt with sand on them. I was just really mad that they didnt eve say the greens were in bad shape and they charged full price.
  14. I bought my Nike Sumo after just a couple test hits. I'm glad i did too.
