  1. hi all, any tips on how to check your shoulder alignment? i was told by my uncle today that i have MAJOR flaws with my address: feet alignment were open, shoulders were wide open, and my clubface alignment was also wide open... because everything were open, they compensate each other which results a push everytime I hit. the clubface alignment, feet alignment can be fixed and checked when i setup more carefully... but i just dont seem to know when my shoulders are squared to the target line.. i am too used to my old one. any tips? much appreciated :)
  2. Which golf school do you work at?
  3. I just wanted to know if I am missing out for not taking divots at all... and what are the pros and cons of (not) taking divots? does sweeping the grass create less spin on the ball?
  4. 3 weeks ago, i got myself a bucket 45 minutes prior to tee time; apart from the first shot with a 60 deg that actually looked like a legit shot, NOTHING else even got off the ground... wedge shots were rolling 45 degrees to the left, short irons had like 10 yards carry, and i was hitting half a foot behind the ball with my long irons... considering i was playing with player's equipment and the clock was ticking, i was extra embarassed and worried.. instead of thinking what i was doing wrong, i took my mind off of what happened at the range, went to the clubhouse and grabbed a sandwich. when i stepped onto the first tee, i thought less of my embarassment, and more of what i usually do that produces good shots.. in the end, apart from putting 47 times, i was very decent with my irons. i usually think less of what i did wrong, and more of what i usually do to get it right... positive thinking helps a lot.
  5. I was wondering if any could recommend me some books on improving the mental side of the game? much appreciated (admin/mod: please move this topic if it is in the wrong forum)
  6. Yes! Sophia 35"... I loved my center-shafted nike oz t130 until i tried yes! sophia for laughs at a golf store 2 months ago.. the putter is much more serious than the brand sounds: the ball rolls very well, and the feel is excellent. Got a used one on ebay for $72.. but that donkey ho never provided the putter cover as advertised.
  7. Can someone teach me the proper technique to take divots? how do your arms and hands feel when you hit it right (or wrong)? For the whole time I just "sweep the grass"... are there pros and cons for both ball striking techniques? (i know that pros take divots all the time...) what do i have to change in my swing? can i practice the technique on mats?
  8. i dunno if you are doing these things already, but usually after a bad round, i would go to the range with my bud and tell him to check if there are any visible problems in your swing/setup. that would be an easy way to find out what's with your swing. if you go to the range by yourself, take it very slow and easy, and think a lot: dont think about what you are doing wrong, but what you have to do to get your swing working properly. visualize your swing, especially your followthrough - the followthrough is a product of your swing, and they dont lie: when your swing is perfect, your follow thru would be magazine-cover worthy, if you did a reverse pivot, u wont be able to balance... so think hard about what's the usual swing sequence that gives you the usual/consistent/perfect followthrough. i wont really recommend you to try new things, esp if you think ur swing is pretty good and consistent already. hope this helps, even tho it's been 4 days!
  9. very tough call.. think about the tech that tiger enjoys nowadays (nike might be crap, but still better than what they have back in jack's days).. it would be an interesting an match if they hit with each other's set!

  12. DM4UGA I would recommend you to read Tour Tempo by John Novosel, and you can thank me later... simply put, there is only one swinging tempo that would give you optimal yardage without sacrificing accuracy... and that swinging tempo is shared by all great golfers: they may have different swings, but their TEMPO are ALL THE SAME. read the book once, learn the concept, and the game will never be the same once you get the correct tempo. trust me.
