  1. At present all I can say is that this indicates a tremendous body of work. Congratulations. As yet I haven't analysed any of your or Knuth's contentions but superficially I lean your way. I am away for a few days or so so will study your analysis when I get back. But suffice to say - an impressive piece of work.
  2. I often saw a difference. Mature players - "Oh dear, that's a bit of a mess you've got yourself into." The pros - "Sorry. That's a penalty." The juniors - "Can I help?"
  3. Progressing nicely.
  4. I always preferred match play until I could only keep up with the players by using a buggy.
  5. Point taken. 🍺 As it happens, I have just done my last officiating job, 25+ years since I qualified. Really enjoyed it but I'll enjoy not having to get up at 5am even more. I am sure you will enjoy your time Dave and hopefully not have to award too many penalties. Good fortune. 👍
  6. Different courses. Those in the USA vs parkland in England.
  7. I don't see where saeval25 wrote that. 🤔
  8. I wasn't 'jumping all over' it and didn't claim 'all' but there are many woodland/parkland courses in England (particularly) where it is the case.
  9. Have you ever played woodland courses in the UK?
  10. Where did you get this stuff? What standard of player does it relate to? Scratch, bogey, elderly ....? I may cost some players 2, 3 or 4 strokes.
  11. Crikey, I have difficulty in remembering what happened last week never mind 10 years ago 😉 Thanks for putting me right. Was the old discussion here or on RG?
  12. I don't normally disagree with Erik but I'm afraid I do this time. The Definition only says: "The boundary edge should be defined by boundary objects or lines:.." When defined by other objects ....... the Committee should define the boundary edge. As it's on someone else's land, it's not on the course and OB
  13. Does the club/course or local authority own the road?
  14. When does a 'non-conforming' club become just another piece of metal or plastic?
  15. Did the 'club' conform to the Equipment Rules?
