  1. Yep, stock Aldila NV 75 shaft and I don't like it. I'm hoping to get driver and three woods fitted with new shafts according to the clubfitters design.
  2. Tin Pot

    Euro 2008

I'll support Holland in place of England, but I have to admit I'm not really following it at all.
  3. I'm "other" but only just: 50º, 56º, 60º I don't do full shots with my 56 or 60 so there's no problem with the 6 degree gap.
  4. I've been suffering under 20 yards and sorted it out last weekend with a net 59. For me, my technique was good, but my shot choice was appalling. Now I seem to have got the hang of when to putt from the fairway, when to chip with a mid iron, and when to chip with a wedge.
  5. In honesty, I don't. I try to hit 3 18ft, 3 6ft and 6 3ft putts before I go out to get the green speed. No, I don't putt particularly well, but getting a practice green worth having at home is expensive.
  6. Sorry missed this one "What aspect of your game needs the most work. " Right now I'm shoddy off the tee. Used to hit 80%, short but accurate, now it's more like 50/50. Short breaking putts cost me yesterday, and I chip like a monkey, so I've bought a chipping matt to practise in the evenings at home. Putting practise (breaking putts) is hard to do when you have little free time.
  7. I'm 22.7, cut twice since January and I think the trend is going to continue. I've played for 2yrs 8 mths, last year I took lessons regularly, practised and played once a week. My swing looks better than my handicap. I use a ProV1 in the summer and NXT/solo in the winter, mostly on faith that the lower compression helps in the cold, but I can't say I notice the difference. I'm better at putting with a ProV1 and we have extraordinarily fast greens so I need anything that can stop on the green. Regarding the price of equipment, you're plain daft if you think gear will buy you less strokes.
  8. 10 strokes off my handicap, please Santa.
  9. Titleist 907D1, 10.5º regular flex 4175 shaft. Pro: Easy to hit, much more forgiving of off centre hits than the 983K. Con: Loud (but not as loud as the Nike/Callaway offerings)
  10. I carry 50º, 56º, 60º and 64º wedges now. The 64º I only got a couple of weeks ago, more for practice and experimentation. There is one or two holes of my course that missing the green means flopping on to the green or just scoot over the other side again, so I'll be taking the 64º but once a round at the most wold be the use I can see for it. I'm also working on the 3x4 Pelz system, so we'll see if it fits in with my pitching at all.
  11. I like him. I don't like his mannerisms much, but he's trying to use scientific method in sport which scares a lot of people away. He makes me chuckle. I use the 3x4 system along with pitching lessons I can now, on occasion, threaten the pin from a distance. 20-70 yards is easily the most confident part of my game. Not so keen on his putting advice, but its still pretty sound.
