  1. Ernie Els ... period!
  2. You go Colin .. keep up the great work buddy! :D
  3. You go Choi! WoW! 65? In the US Open? On a dye, err, dyee .. uhhhh ... dia bolical Pete Dye gem! wooo! I love Pete's stuff .. :)
  4. Try being an Oakland Raiders fan ..
  5. Thank you for finding that ..
  6. Yes. It indeed did. There was major controversy over this, and the issue was resolved. OTH, I thought it was grrreat just the way it was. And I was merly responding to a contributor's passion for playing a course as (or almost as) "difficult" as Olympic.. set up for a U.S. Open. I didn't mean to be and I realize that I'm stil a noobie here. I'll keep it OT more in the future. Still gettin my Foot-Joy's wet around here. Now then, back to our regular scheduled program.
  7. If you ever get to Hawaii, on Oahu ... play Ko'olau Golf Course .. when it first opened, the slope rating was 162 .. and no, that's not a joke .. The local members complained, ended up playing other courses, tourists stopped going, etc .. so they took some of it's teeth out. It now slopes out at 1 5 2 .. I LOVE super tight, fast, never a flat lie in the fairway, bent grass stimped @14's golf courses too! .. http://www.koolaugolfclub.com/golf.cfm without the ocean vista's (Ko'olau is a mountain/valley course) and Kapalua is aLOT easier .. (slopes at 152 also) but it's a bit longer, not to mention, quite a-bit more wide open. But yeah, I'd love to play Olympic also .. some of those uphill approaches would kill me though. I don't play courses like that, so I don't get to practice those shots.
  8. ernie els is butter .. best swing in golf .. I'd like to see him pull it off .. :)
  9. Yep! :) One of the commentator's even said, "I didn't come here and pay to see a lay-up!" :P
  10. I love tournaments like this. I love courses like this. I love golf like this .. :D
  11. Wow Mif thanks .. that's what I seem to remember again I couldn't help but notice you're playing the ole Callaway Bobby Jones S2H2 .. grrreat set of irons. My buddy still has a set somewhere. I'll be stepping back into time a pinch myself to look for a set of Callaway X12's. I hit a partner's 7 iron on the course the other day, and I forgot just how insanely forgiving and easy they were to hit. Thanks for the info Mif!
  12. I just ordered an NVS 55 in Reg. The site states that no tipping is required for a regular flex. But in reality, I'm a *tweener* in terms of flex. I'm really a *firm* flex hitter in regards to swing speed. (92mph) I installed an Aldila 55 in a Taylor Made 580XD TP many years ago that I simply loved to death! But I forgot what I did in assembling the club. I know I tipped it, but I just don't remember. (getting old sucks lol) So sorry that I sold that club and miss it dearly! Yeah, it's older technology, but I still have the original Callaway Heaven Wood, 7 wood in my bag lol. I don't like the *hybrids* and I can reach shorter par 5's in two with it with alot of consistency .. so I ain't fixin anything that ain't broke lol. I've actually found another 580XD TP head recently, and I want to build this driver to resemble the one that I sold. I wanna say I tipped it a half an inch? I just don't know. I don't wanna tip it so much that I actually end up with a stiff flex. But at the same time, I don't want to leave it too soft, and miss out on that sweet spot? The head is a 10.5* same as the old head I had. What would any of our guru club-makers here suggest a goo tipping for a cpm between 250-260 ish? I know there's alot of debate on what stiff is in cpm as opposed to what regular might be .. I don't want to get into all of that .. Charts have varied for years, and different manufactures have different #'s .. not by much, but, yeah .... For as long as I've been building clubs, these #'s have seemed to work for me .. and others that I've built for. I'm just interested in seeing some responses from some of the community here who are seasoned vets .. :) Thanks!
  13. I used to be a Ping/Scotty, blade kina guy. But someone stole my 2ball, and I found somethng I actually liked better. Not much of a mallet fan, but after my 2ball, and now this Cleveland VP5, I dunno if I'll ever go back to a blade. The insert on this VP5 makes an ole Top-Flite feel like an old ballata ..
  14. Just sayin hello from the blazing desert ...
