  1. Yeah- Duval is starting to look embarrassing. Is he getting sponsor's exemption's? Why is he taking a spot away from some one that actually has a chance to make the cut? He needs to go back to the minor leagues for a bit and see if he can get better instead of wasting a spot every other week on the PGA.
  2. I can see Stricker winning a major this year- he seems to be right in the mix almost every time lately. I think he has played in like seven tournaments this year and his worst finish was like 14th? Oh yeah and one missed cut. In the past he has seemed to have problems with self confidence but I think that is behind him now and he KNOWS he is one of the best players. He just changed his irons last week and came back with a final round 63 at Doral- a big switch from the Taylor made fiasco in the late 90's!
  3. Yep-getting it once a week is kind of nice when trying to keep up on the latest pro golf stuff. The insider type info is cool too- like I would have never known Ben Curtis saved Steve Allens life at the FBR when Allen was choking, or that Arjun Atwal faces some Jail time for a street racing incident, or telling who is out because of injury or who is coming back from injury's. I guess I am just excited about this mag because it tells me the stuff I want to know.
  4. I just got my first issue last week and I love it. It's a small magazine- I think this issue was like forty pages but it was good reading from cover to cover. It mostly covers pro golf but does have sections on amatuer stuff too. It's a weekly publication. :)
  5. On the internet for 20 years? I really don't even remember the internet before 1995.
  6. Nothing has replaced it yet but they are supposed to unveil something new pretty soon.
  7. I kind of agree that Phil's just not that much fun to watch. No dought he's a great player but he alway's seems to finish about how I expect he will. I think maybe looking back over the last few years you could say he was the 2nd best player but as of today and living in the present I would say Rory,KJ, and Stricker are a step ahead of him- I mean these guy's are playing good right now and Phil seems to be off a little. I do hope he does well- I root for everyone on the PGA as they all deserve a win.
  8. I know Steve Stricker has been known to play at local courses in Edgerton Wisconsin and will even ask to join a group for a few holes at a time.
  9. "i dont try to get any of the pros attention because i could care less if they wave at me, im there to watch good golf and if waving and acknowledging people hurts their game/concentration, please refrain from it lol" Well said! I think along those same lines and when I see a pro at a tournament I never initiate conversation unless they say something first and even then I keep short. At the BMW last year when the players were walking across the cart path to the first tee a couple preppy 20 year olds were making commets too almost every player and it was quite obvious some were losing concentration. A few years ago at the John Deere on the 18th hole a young mother had a young kid maybe 3-4 years old going ballistic just behind a mound behind the tee box. The mother thought she was alone scolding the kid pretty harshly and unknown to her a few hundred people and some pro golfers were waiting for her to finish- all three golfers put their balls in the tree's.
  10. why is there always's such negative vibes on this forum?
  11. The OWGR uses all pro tournaments to calculate. Not really sure of how Golfweeks works their rankings? Thought others might find this list interesting. :)
  12. Not sure if you guy's have ever seen this ranking by Golfweek but it's kind of a shake up compared to the Official World Golf Ranking. They have Rose listed as number two- I truely don't believe him to be the second best golfer in the world. http://www.golfweekrankings.com/temp...lt.asp?t=world
  13. On tournament day's they have to be all business and concentrate on the game. Maybe try going to a practice round or better yet the pro-am day to see these guy's when things are not as tense.
  14. I would like to see him do well but I think he is near the bottom at the Bob Hope. If he finishes over par at this event he is in for a rough year.
  15. Strength of the field makes a difference. Here's a link to the Official World Golf Ranking. http://www.officialworldgolfranking....me/default.sps . Here's a sample of how things work- a comparrison between Stricker and Choi. The rankings use the two previous years and the points earned lose value as time goes by. I really think it's a pretty good system as it it gices more weight to recent events and stronger fields. Here's Strickers and Choi's charts http://www.officialworldgolfranking....alPts=341.3513 http://www.officialworldgolfranking....alPts=290.2691 Choi is now ranked 7th and Stricker 3rd.
