  1. Looks like I posted this in the wrong section, I'm sorry, could a mod please move the thread?
  2. Here is the video, sorry for the terrible iPhone quality. I'm also using a Regular flex driver, but after watching this in slow motion I think I may need to move up to stiff because there seems to be a lot of bend. Any suggestions?
  3. I had a friend video my drive finally to check my head movement (I've been slightly hooking the ball recently). Is it normal for my head to move during the swing but come back to original location on impact?
  4. Right now I'm torn between which wedge to buy. I hear nothing but great things about Titleists Vokey wedges, but the Taylormade ATV wedge's versatility has my eye. I know everyone says wedges are like putters and mostly preference, but which of those two wedges are going to give me more spin/performance? I've also heard the Cleveland CG15s is a solid wedge, so I'm open to any suggestions. (I would be looking at getting possibly a 54* and 58* because my burner 2.0's came with a 50* A wedge)
  5. 43" makes my 46" octane seem long, do you think a shorter shaft would increase my accuracy?
  6. The usual, squirrels, rabbits, and sometimes a fox. The craziest thing I've ever saw was about 10yds off the green at #7 my friend was looking for his ball and yells out for me to come over. There was a group of 5 armadillos battering their head down into the ground (I guess this is how they eat/pull food out) and eating. We stood there literally for 5 minutes watching them about 3ft away (so close I tapped one on the back with my putter, he didn't budge or run), they were standing on their hind legs looking at us and everything like all was good. All of a sudden they just DASHED out into the woods, almost like one of them said "OH SHIT HUMANS!".
  7. Got 27 in yesterday, almost made my way into the 80's again. Scored a 90, consistency feels good.
  8. I've played Nike Slingshots (2010) for about a season and half now. I like the irons and don't really have a problem with them, but I cant stop considering the Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons. I really like the way they look/sound and I'm considering buying them next year. I haven't hit them yet, only seen them in the store. Should I be concerned with replacing my irons already or should I stick with them for longer than 1.5 seasons? Have any of you played the Burner 2.0's? Would they be a decent upgrade?
  9. 100+ for the next 6-7 days and humid. I might try early Saturday morning but accuweather says its going to be 106 with a 112 real feel.
  10. It really just depends, a lot of days my drives are decent. There's two courses I play, one is well maintained and seems to have fluffy grass (best way I can think to describe it) and my approach and chip shots are usually dead on. The other course always feels like a tight lie, even from the middle of the fairway and ESP. around or just off the green. It's hard to explain but it's like hitting off hard dirt covered by grass, is this from poor maintenance? It makes me think I'm falling into the "scooper" category, maybe I need to get a tour striker and spend some time at the range working on hitting down into the ball and creating lag.
  11. I started out the year with the goal of breaking 100. After spending a lot of afternoons on the course I finally surpassed that goal about a month ago and have been floating under/around that 100 mark. The last 7 outings I haven't shot above 100. It feels good, not only to break 100 but to be able to play consistently under 100. I've played off and on since around 2006 but never broke 100 until this year. Yesterday, I shot an 89, never thought I would shoot in the 80's. It's probably just a fluke but hopefully if I keep going I can keep it around that level. The one thing I noticed is that I'm usually on the green one over GIR and putting for par, which usually results in 2 putting for bogie. Is this a normal trend? I just wish I could get more consistent balls striking with my irons so I could get more of those GIRs.
  12. I just registered this year (thought I did back then, but I either forgot my u/n pw or didnt), been lurking since '06 off and on.
  13. I've noticed I have a tendency to pull the ball to the left when I'm a good ways back sometimes. It doesn't hook just goes a lot more left than I thought, could be bad alignment but when it happens it goes straight but usually far left of the green or worse into the woods.
  14. One thing that has really been on my mind lately is distance from the ball at address. I've read a few things online about putting the club behind the ball and bringing the grip down and it should hit around 2 inches above your knee cap. I noticed that I must of been standing to close to the ball because when I would start using this and putting some distance between my feet and the ball my irons became more consistent. Especially with my 3 wood, I had started hooking it real bad but the extra distance allowed me to stripe it down the middle from off the deck. What are some things I can do to get the proper distance between the ball and my feet? Long time lurker here, been browsing this site off and on since about 2006 (off and on meaning, every time the golf bug would come back, this was my #1 community to go to for golf related forums). Thanks in advance, Jeremy
