  1. Royal New Kent is my current favorite. Top 10 would be as follows: 1. Royal New Kent 2. The River Course at Virginia Tech (Pete Dye got about 8 mill to redo it, very hard and very fun) 3. Independence Golf Club 4. Poplar Grove 5. Mattaponi Springs 6. Brickshire Golf Club 7. Hunting Hawk Golf Club 8. Golden Horseshoe golf course 9. Golden Horseshoe Green Course 10. London Downs (easy track but kept in nice shape most of the time) Good Golf in Virginia, mostly in Williamsburg or Richmond area, but southwest VA has a few nice courses too (Homestead courses are nice but pricey; Wintergreen isnt too bad either)
  2. I have been playing the Tour ix for 3 rounds now and have found them to be an improvement over the HX tour. They seem to be more durable and maybe a few yards longer. I have gone a round and a half with the last one I have played and it still has some life left in it.
  3. 8.5 degrees is almost as low as you can go in a Titleist head (7.5 possible but 8.5 is already a little low). If you want to get a little less spin, look at the ProLaunch Red, Diamana Whiteboard or Aldila VS Proto. These should cut the spin down significantly compared to the YS shaft you have now and they will probably launch quite a bit lower. I wouldn't tell you to put any of them in your driver though without getting fitted on a LM. I know that I tried lots of different shafts in my old Titleist 905R without getting fitted and I spent way too much and got nothing out of it. Once I got fitted, I picked p yards and find more fairways (I use the PL Red because I was getting too much spin and too high of a launch.) Just my thoughts, but I would say get fitted and go from there.
