  1. I wonder that myself. I normally have a couple blow up holes and mostly pars w/ no more than 2 birdies per round if that. I think my GIR's keep my round going, but they usually lead to two putts b/c they're simply GIR's, but not real close to the hole. When I look back at my rounds, I can always find those few shots that keep me from breaking 80, but they aren't any one part about my game, which makes it hard to really pinpoint a distinct area to work on. The only thing I can pinpoint is my driving. It's definitely the worst part of my game. Idk what it is, but I can't seem to get it under control.
  2. With my irons I am pretty accuratel, but with my wedges I have a tendency to pull my shots about 2-3 yards left of my target. Any ideas or suggestions?
  3. I get plenty of spin w/ NXT Tours, but when I play Pro V1's there is a marked increase in spin, especially on shorter pitches and even chips. Almost too much at times. For me, most of the time the ball will take a hop then spin to the right more so than backwards with my approach shots. Does this happen to anyone else?
  4. I'm in the same boat. I started playing about 8 months ago and I progressed really quickly until now where I've been stuck at around a 10 for the last couple months. Im still trying to break 80. My low round is an 80 on the dot, but normally about 82-85. First and foremost, don't get frustrated, and second, if you can't afford lessons (like myself) then do your research. There's a lot of good stuff out there. For instance The Golf Channel has a lot of video tips on their website. Another good thing is to just watch a lot of golf and really take notice of what the pros do on what could be called "standard " shots (Drives, Irons from the Fairway, etc.) b/c their fundamentals are such that it would be hard for anyone to go wrong w/ trying to emulate and understand how their bodies are moving in the swing. Finally, I think it helps to be a bit obsessed with getting better. I often find that no matter how frustrated I get or how much I want to quit during a bad round, when I leave I want to go and play again and figure out what I'm doing wrong just as much. Good luck
  5. I love mine (Newport 2). However, it's main appeal does have much to do with the name, but to the discerning golfer, it's hard to find anything too much better
  6. I don't need to re-grip my clubs just yet, but I'm thinking about it anyways b/c I want something a lil' more shock absorbing. Currently I have the stock cords on my X-Forged's (Which are all I'm looking to re-grip at the moment). Any suggestions?
  7. SC Studio Style Newport 2 w/ PING Blackout grip a la Tiger. I've had it for about a month, and I love it. Only complaint is that the ball can be a little jumpy off the face, so I don't have to swing nearly as hard as I did w/ my Odyssey XG 7.
