  1. I think he still has plenty of desire and love for the game. otherwise I don't think he'd be so eager to use those exemptions of his. I bet also his family would like to see him return to his form. Let's face it, kids love to root for their daddy!!!! He'll be back.
  2. I think the R & A should also check themselves. How can they in their right mind put players in the final group ot "The Open" on the clock when they were obviousley being delayed by the spectators. It was becoming somewhat of a side show. Ban the damn phones. If you must talk on one, what the event on TV.
  3. Done For The Year Huh???????????????? Better Stay Away From Vegas!
  4. I got mine on Tuesday (1/10). Of course for me it's renewal time, so it's ontime.
  5. All that really matters is she can play!!! Bring on the best and let them play. Game on! Let's see some of that competative fire. That goes for Wie as well. If they are really that good then they should be allowed to compete. These young women have the opportunity to bring more attention to the game and to the LPGA as a whole. We have been watching womans golf, in particular, growing in popularity. This could vault the LPGA to another level. As a fan of the game, I like to see the best play. Bring 'em on. JF
  6. I believe Paul has the cool head to prevail. He was always in the fairway. GAME ON!
  7. Last night the topic came up on Golf Central. They touched on a couple of good points that I completely agree with. First off, his game may be well suited for match play. Second, he could be one hell of a wild card as far as the fans go. There are so many JD fans out there and we all know they are quite vocal. Imagine that on the European home turf! I also think that if JD were put in a team arena playing for the US, he would get quite fired up. I believe he is one player who would not take this for granted. He would look at this as definate highlight of his carrer and could give him a springboard to rededicate himself to the game. I'm all for it! Besides, isn't that why there are captians picks?? To pick wild card players who otherwise wouldn't be on the team (top ten). IMO that's part of the sirit of the Ryder Cup! JF
  8. Welcome! I'm relatively new to the game as well (spring '04). Hopelessly addicted now as well. I'm not really in the Austin area much, but if your in the Houston area, I'd be up for a round. JF
  9. Of course I'll watch it. Even here in Houston we're having a cold spell. I move here from NY and I still get ice out there when I go to work at 3am. What's up with that??
  10. Airline Dispatcher. Can read posts during good weather.
  11. Having been in that position when I was in the military (stationed near a French Army Kaserne), I haven't met one that could fight his was out of a wet paper bag.....at least not without an American lending a helping hand! But having said that, the hand we presented was hardly a helping one, unless changing the location on his face where his nose is placed counts.
  12. Well I like to play at multiple courses. Usually the one that is least crowded and possibly has a special running that day. I belong to the PDP (Player development program) at Oakhurst Golf Club ( www.oakhurstgolfclub.com) . I also play frequently at Red Wolf Run Golf Club ( www.redwolfrungolfclub.com) . There I belong to the Lone Star Rewards Program, which gives me 1 free round for every 5 played. Eagle Point Golf Club ( www.eaglepointonline.com ) is another in the area that I've only payed once thus far but is one of my favorites in the area.
  13. The weather here should improve next week. It should be back up to about 17 or 18 C by mid week and hopefully I'll get out Thurs or Fri (or both). I should at least got on the range this weekend. Have to take out my frustations somehow!
  14. Do all of the courses you play over there stay open all winter?
  15. PACE OF PLAY!!! I think this is one of the most ignored curtousies in golf. It is probably the single largest complaint people have. I respect a guy who is not playing well and needs extra shots, but it's the players who are to preoccupied with cell phones, spending too long looking for lost balls, flirting with the cart girl, or just flat out too intoxicated that cause the most problems.
