  1. Where are the details of the 2007 club test? The overall rating for a specific set of irons in the 2008 club test is simply not enough. For instance, I'm not really concerned with the "look" of a particular 9-iron. I'm more interested in the "accuracy," "forgiveness," and "distance" of that 9-iron. In the same way, a set of irons is judged by a number of categories, some mentioned above. However, for example, a set of irons that fare well (or do not fare well) in the "chipping" category means little to me since I chip with my wedges. So bring back the numerical scores, GM, and let us decide which clubs are better for us! (Who in the world rates golf clubs according to their appearance anyway?) - k
  2. To keep it simple, there are some visual images in golf magazine of the varied swing planes according to each club. I guess I'm more of a visual learner, but these swing-plane images helped me. Of course, reproducing these swing planes, particularly with the driver, is another matter. (smile) - k
  3. Thanks. I'm going to give it a try. - k
  4. Don't get too excited. It could simply be that you're a little rusty. I played Saturday and had trouble hitting some of my favorite clubs. It might also have something to do with the conditions of the course. I played in soggy conditions, and it just made everything more difficult. One thing that helped me was that I didn't focus on scoring well. Instead, I just tried to relax and get into a rhythm, and focused on addressing some of my mental mistakes, which are swinging too hard off the tee, and chipping and putting tentatively. Well, I hope things improve for you (and me). - k
  5. If I'm just off the green, on the second cutting or even light rough, I'll often chip with my 6-iron, using it as I would a putter, since it has a similar loft to a putter. If I happen to be close to the hole, I would use my 8-iron. - k
  6. TaylorMade r7 Draw. I've played only one game this season, on Saturday, and I was hitting almost everything way left. That's funny, because I bought the r7 draw to keep from slicing, and it worked well for me last season. Oh, well. - k
