  2. Do you think it may just be a timing issue with the longer clubs at first? I think the bit where you say "slowed down your swing" is crucial. It's such a big change that will require a slow down at first to get the timing of the body in sync.
  3. Recently I discovered(pro informed me@swing check)was standing to far away from the ball at address which was leading to inconsistent ball striking and loss of balance on the follow through. I have always had this tendency since starting to play golf in 2005 and I suspect it comes out most in pressure situations. I then decided at address to drop my hands naturally so they just hung directly down from my shoulders and grip the club there. It felt so close to my body that I suspected I would shank or heel strike every shot. To my amazement I struck everything off of the sweet spot and just couldn't help doing it again and again! I then tried this with my pitching, chipping and putting and the contact and consistency was a remarkable difference. I notice the same posture and hanging hands adopted by so many pros. So the main point is "have I found the natural set up for me resulting in the perfect start point for my swing to be consistent?" I also have noticed as my stance is slightly narrower and my whole swing more compact I don't have to put in as much effort(as though gravity is assisting). My hip clearance and rotation is also significantly better. Has anyone else had a similar experience/breakthrough?
  4. 13.1 mile run followed with static stretching( good technique for a min of 30 seconds each stretch.
  5. In Scotland my club has a shortage of members just now. It is regarded as arguably the best course in the area and is in a strong position financially and membership numbers in comparison to neighbouring courses. I would have to say 3 reasons to why this is the case........ 1 economy 2 length of round time and practice time required to get good 3 increasing work demands balanced with a good family life.
  6. Just to throw in my tuppence worth, I have travelled with my golf clubs on several occassions throughout Europe and have not had any breakages/issues. I use a soft cover. There are some unlucky people posting in this thread. I agree a hard case is far superior, I believe I only bought the soft cover because it was on offer at the time and I was skint.
  7. I work as a domestic natural gas engineer. This job suits family and golf life very well with as I work 45 hours in the winter and ......wait for it......28 hours in the summer......averaging 37 hours per week through the year. I get 36 days holiday a year also....I'm really pleased with my work life in Scotland.
  8. Hi all, another windy and rainy day in glasgow, Scotland. I'm looking forward to gaining much knowledge from the site. I'm on a serious game improvement plan this year(lol, aren't we all every year). I've a current playing handicap of 7.5 and I'm hoping to reduce that this year.
