  1. Anyone play these clubs in the factory graphite shaft? It was a Fujikura 90. I have an 8 iron in this configuration (stiff flex) and would like to track down a set. 2nd swing has a set but with regular shafts....Any other leads? Thanks!
  2. If I have the clubs reshafted, wouldn't it be most beneficial to reshaft irons 4,5, and 6, maybe 7, since AWT shafts are stiffer and heavier in the shorter irons?
  3. Well, against what has been recommended, I'm going with the G15s - they are yellow dots, and as per PING and my live fitting, I'm a black dot. I fully intend to send the clubs to PING to get adjusted to the black dot lie angle, so I should be good there. The only other difference is the shaft recommendation - I will be playing AWT R flex, but the fitting recommended CFS (is that right?) Stiff. Both in steel. Will this be a huge deal, or am I splitting hairs here? I don't dislike how the shafts feel per se, but I'm a novice, so what do I know? Thanks!
  4. The swingspeed is for the 6 iron. I agree that having a non-certified staff doing the bending would be ill-advised. I wonder if one measures a certain color code for a given model, say g20, that the lie angle applies to all ping clubs or just that particular model...know what I mean? Is a black dot g15 applicable to the purchase of black dot g20s or g25s?
  5. ...I have a line on some nice G15 yellow dots...a better deal overall by a significant margin. Should I send the yellow dots in and have them adjusted by PING or do that at the end of the season - typically October. I hear it can take three weeks to get them back. I don't know if I want to send them off in the prime of the season. Should I just play my old clubs for a few weeks, or play with a slightly diff lie angle until the end of the season and send them in then? Also, my fitting suggested a swingspeed of 74-78. The pro recommended stiff shafts - cfs stiff I believe. The g15s have a regular shaft flex. Is this a big deal? Thanks!
  6. Hi all - first post here and looking forward to learning from all of you! I've played golf in earnest for 3 years - first with some wilson sam sneads I picked up at a garage sale, then with some TM TP CBs I bought from my neighbor. I still have those TM's for my irons, and an Adams driver, which I hit ok - usually 200-225 and straight enough if I don't try to hit too hard. What really stinks is my iron play - particularly anything longer than a 9 iron. Because i don't drive real far, i'm commonly left with a 150 + yard shot on my second shot. I need to be able to hit better from the middle distances. I'm a little better from 9-PW distance in terms of accuracy, cleaner striking, and straighter shots. I know most of it is my own lack of ability, but would it be worth it to try some different clubs to help myself out? I typically shoot in the mid to upper 40's for 9 holes. A good day lands me between 40 and 45. I'm kind of a minimalist, so I don't want to chase the holy grail too much! :) I just want a little help that can help me today, and still be applicable to tomorrow, or even 5-10 years from now. I hit my buddy's Nike SQ Machspeeds and that got me thinking how nice it would be to have more forgiving clubs. MY TM CBs felt pretty harsh by comparison - could be the stiff steel shaft, but I honestly don't know enough about this stuff to fairly evaluate. So...should I look at clubs (please throw out a few solid choices) or look into reshafting my own clubs...or should I just take a lesson or two, get fitted, and go from there? I should add that I've demo-ed jpx800s the aforementioned Nikes, some ping g15s, and some i10s. They all felt ok but I think I need to get fitted and really get acquainted with/commit to one set of clubs. Too much demo-ing messes with my head! :) Thanks for the input!
