  1. Thanks guys, What do you mean by arm lift? Do you mean that I keep the arms going back past the point where the shoulders still turn? The left leg really surprised me when I saw myself, I had no idea I was doing that! I'll try to calm that down and see how it helps. The natural shape of this shot is a draw, but not much of one, only goes a few degrees off to the left. I'm pretty happy with my shape, it's nice and controlled and consistent on the low irons. I don't actually know my handicap, I generally shoot in the low 100s, last time I played was my best of 102. My biggest problem is that when I hit a bad shot, it's really bad. I lose more than a dozen balls per round, and those penalty strokes are killing me (so is the cost of the balls). That last round, I shot a 45 on the back nine, and I think I only lost 1 ball, so I know I can have a much better score if I can just turn my awful shots into only not good ones. Andy
  2. Thanks for the comments, I'll definitely try starting with my shoulders. I thought I did, but watching it back it doesn't quite look like how it feels. And you're right about the putting, because I struggle to keep my wrists still during the stroke. The hard part for me is swinging with my shoulders without moving my lower body too much. Watching the video, I can see I move my hips around more than I thought I did, but not nearly as bad as I used to do. Andy
  3. Here is video of my 8iron swing. I have no big problem with this club, but I figured while I was recording myself, I might as well have my swing checked out. Am I doing anything weird or wrong here? Thanks, Andy Front view http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1506 Down the line http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1505
  4. Hi guys, I finally got around to recording my swing, could you take a look at it? With the driver, I hit it pretty well when I can remember to do everything correctly, but I sometimes slice it when I get sloppy. I think I slice it if I let my hips slide forward on the downswing or rotate back on the backswing, so I try not to move them at all. Does that make sense? Thanks, Andy Face on view http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1508 Down the line http://www.swingacademy.com/swingana...l.aspx?id=1507
  5. I have a slight draw on the woods and a slight pull on 9 and wedges. Middle irons are pretty much straight, a tiny bit of a draw on the 3 and 4 iron.
  6. I'm not sure if this is a problem I have or if it is normal. After I hit any club, if I look at the club head, it is always rotated maybe 20 degrees closed. Is this indicative of a problem?
  7. Hi guys, I'm not really new to golf (been playing on and off about 10 years) but I'm not very good (I usually shoot in 110-115). I bought a new driver this year, a titanium 450cc giant, which was a step up from a nice Taylor Made from about 15-20 years ago. I played one round and then I went to the driving range the next day. The head split along the seam on the bottom of the face. I had it replaced with the same model. I went out a few days ago with the new one, played a round, and again I broke it along the bottom seam. Are these big titanium drivers really this fragile? Or is this just a garbage head that I have. Should I replace it with something similar from a different brand or would a smaller steel head be better. It was hard to find out the brand, but the head is made by Kittyhawk and it is called ProTour TourXL. Thanks, Andy

  9. Well, early morning is great if I can make myself do it, but I generally go for twilight. It's hot when you start, but it's usually pretty pleasant for most of the round. It is annoying if you start late and the last few holes are hard to see on though. It's a risk I'm willing to take. Andy
