  1. Yeah, I get better stopping power with three price and up. Only made the duo spin back once and the Cally super soft a few times. The old three piece Wilson FG tour was better than both cant comment on the new four piece offering. Wasn't swinging well when I took the softflis out the other day, will have to give em another run before judging them. Can't beat the price though.
  2. Yeah, I've been seeing the same thing. Thanks anyway!
  3. Hello guys, looking for some info on the TT BLACK GOLD shafts. I play with a set of mint condition 88-89 Wilson Staff fluid feel blades. Looking for a little more forgiveness and modern tech, I decided to start trying and buying various clubs off of eBay. I bought a WS FG 62 7i with a flighted 6.0 and loved the feel of it however my pockets won't allow the purchase of a full set. In my quest to find the "perfect" club I've read some very good things about Bridgestone irons and found a set for a great price with black golds and read that b4 TT bought Royal Precision that they made them to compete and are almost identical in stats with a little higher ball flight. Does anyone have experience with this shaft/head combo? I understand feel is subjective but just wanted to get some honest feedback. BTW I don't like em I'll sell them or trade them, the Wilsons always seem to find a spot back in my bag anyway, something about that solid feel that I just can't find in newer clubs.
  4. I too hate the feel of the 20Xi line but they are fun to play on short par threes, they spin back like a top and I rarely spin balls back. The RZN BLACK is just as hard but the red and whites feel like ProVs to me, nice and solid.
  5. Just bought some siftflis and noticed that all of the blogs refer to it as a 3 piece ball. I live the Wilson duo and was I terested in the Wilson spin so I was excited to learn that I could buy good 3 piece ball @ 2/$25. After doing some research I think DSG made a typo because pics of the ball cut in half show it being two pieces. I'm not totally bummed out because ill probably like the ball since the duo felt like butter off of forged blades but just thought that having a third layer would give me a little more stopping power on short pitches. Still can't wait to see how it performs.

    distance??

I don't trust them that much because of the rollouot that they add in and most simulators are set to near perfect conditions. I went to DSG one day and was hitting a 6i 209, went back the next day, hit the same 6i 168, more of my normal distance. Another person asked if it was your own 6i and that persons questioned was justifiable because most of the new clubs have lofts that are so jacked that you're really hitting a 4/5 iron with a 6 on the bottom of it. I've also had the same thing happen with my driver. As far as mats go, I'll use if I have to, but they tend to make me think that I strike the ball like Henrick Stenson. If I catch it just a tad fat, it still allows the club to slide into the ball producing a false positive.
  7. I felt like the NXT TOUR S was a softer ball after finding two on the course and trying them out then i did some research and found out that it is a softer 2piece version of the NXT, i guess its a little firmer than the DT Solo, but anyway you'll love the new chrome, its soft and stops pretty well
  8. Had the pleasure of receiving these as a gift from an online retailer as a thank you for ordering so much stuff from them and couldn't wait to put them in play. I waited for the first 40* degree day and took one out to one of my normal couses and it was still surprisingly soft, reminded me of the first Wilson FG Tour. I could actually feel myself compress the ball off the driver. It has a very solid feel and sound off of the irons as well. Distances stayed the same through out the bag and with good stopping power on the green. I was very pleased with it off the putter too. It doesn't have that clicky sound that you hear with the HEX BLACK or Pro 1x. I noticed that it had higher ball flight than my usual B330 RXS but not in a ballooning sort of way. I guess this will be the new thing in golf since the new ProV 1 is only a 3 piece ball.
  9. I'm more of a feel player, I can feel when I do some thing wrong but can't replicate it when I feel that I'm doing something right. However, I love the feel of softer golf balls like the Wilson FG Tour and DUO, but they just don't hold the green like some of the other firmer balls, (Callaway Hex Black). I picked up a box of refurbed 20Xi-Xs recently. The feel of this ball is awful, the flight is low, but the spin back is ridiculous. I played a par three course recently and could not believe how much i was backing the ball up. My question to you all out there is, how many of you play a Pro V1 type ball over something softer b/c its more fun to watch it back up or b/c you think that it will give you better results when you feel that its not the ball for you?
  10. I've just recently purchased a chrome Cleveland 56* S wedge, it says " Tour Action " on it but no REG . I'm wondering if it has any value or was that the norm b4 they started stamping REG on some of there wedges. I've looked on the Cleveland website and it seems to to match up with the "88" time line.
  11. Great ball, especially when playing with forged irons, sometimes I feel like I whiffed the ball until I look up. I've played them side by side with every ball imaginable (found in the woods since I'm there a lot), The only reason i prefer the FG Tour is b/c i got one to spin back on the green. Other than that it's really soft and does not lose any distance.
