This is the problem that I have with your take and the claimed Republican position. What if the pc police are right and humans are the primary cause of global warming and we fail to act quickly enough? The answer seems to me that many folks are displaced and many may die. If we go with the Dems position and they are wrong what happens? We spend a ton of money on something that isn't needed. Which would you prefer?

What really scares me are the concealed carry folks. I get the impression that when they carry they are looking for a reason to paly with their toy and too many of them find a reason. See the folks shooting .at shoplifters in mall parking lots. Now there's a responsible gun owner.

You seem to be suggesting the "good guy with guns" argument. I just don't think that argument has merit. In this country everybody has guns, good guys, bad guys... everybody. If the Congress wasn't owned and operated by the NRA they would ban folks on the "do not fly list' from purchasing guns. A bill to prevent that very thing was voted down, YESTERDAY, in the House. I'm a gun owner and a former hunter. When I was a kid guns were about hunting, we all hunted, now it seems, guns are just about "personal protection". That's not working out very well. I must have missed the part where God said anything about guns.

Please see Australia. They seem to have fixed their problem. Of course, they didn't have to deal with the NRA, so there was no real impediment to taking action.

That's way I'm thankful that the USGA keeps a lid on new technology. When I play golf I really don't want to think I did well due to newer equipment. Golf is about the individual, not their equipment. IMHO.

I'm sure there are lots of conservatives on this site. They're like roaches, they are everywhere!

What would you bet that the cop smoked a bit in his day. I don't blame the kid for saying he doesn't trust the cops. I don't trust the cops either and I'm a reasonably well heeled, 66 year old, white guy. I'm not sure when I lost that trust but it's gone. If the kid were black (my assumption) the cop wouldn't have asked.
