  1. Ping Karsten Anser, I'm very excited about getting out tomorrow and testing on the course.
  2. Do some light jogging 4-5 times a week for a duration of 25-30 minutes, if you aren't up for jogging, then walk 6-7 times a week for 30-45 minutes. After two weeks try to increase the duration by 10 minutes. Drink plenty of water in the hours leading up to your jog/walk and plenty of water afterwards, a gatorade wouldn't be a bad idea either (...perhaps a Tiger Gatorade???) Make sure you stretch out your legs before and after the jog/walk, this is a step many people leave out, but it's the easiest way to prevent any sort of injuries. Get 3 well balanced meals each day, with some light snacks thrown in there if you want. Drink a little water after each hole, and the have like a gatorade and a powerbar at the turn. Getting plenty of sleep is an easy way to give yourself some extra energy during the day. I hope that helps and good luck!!!
  3. Callaway FT-3 10* Draw Driver (Used, but in basically brand new condition) for $115 I absolutely LOVE this club!
  4. Tee: Stand behind the with the club in my right hand, pick out my target, visualize my shot, take two practice swings facing perpendicular to the target, walk up to the ball while looking at the target, look down at the ball, waggle, look at my target, waggle/set my feet/ address the ball, look at the target, look at the ball, count to three in my head and then hit the shot. ^^^ I know that seems like it takes a long time but trust me it really doesn't Fairway: Pick out my target while standing behind the ball with the club in my right hand, visualize the shot, approach the ball, take two practice swing, address the ball, waggle/set my feet, look at the target, look at the ball, count to three in my head, hit the shot Putts: After I get my read and pick my line, stand beside the ball, take two practice strokes, step up to the ball, get my feet set, look down my line while picture the ball following it into the cup, look back at the ball, count to three in my head, hit the putt. My Dad really was the one who got me going with a pre-shot routine, it has really helped out my game. I know that no matter what the shot, no matter the situation, they all start the same... 1-2-3-Swing
  5. Hole #1 363 yard Par 4 First shot of the round, first shot (on the course) with my new shaft in my 3 wood (I don't have a driver). I smoked it about 240 straight as an arrow, the shot sounded great, felt great, it was the kinda of shot that keeps you coming back to golf. The best part was that I capitalized on my nice tee-shot by making par, which is awesome for me. Man, I love this game!!!
  6. CCi's is what I would recommend, I've heard good things from the people I know that have them. plus i think the Big Bertha's would be too much of a game improvement club for you, as in you don't seem to need their benefits.
  7. Recently I have fallen in love with the Callaway x-20 Tour. Whenever I go to Golfsmith or PGA Superstore I'll pound away with the 6 iron demo club for a good 15-20 mins. Now I have decided to go ahead and find a good used set on the Callaway Pre-owned site or eBay. The demo 6 irons I have been hitting always have the 6.0 (stiff) Project X Flighted shafts, but my club head speed (avg. of about 73mph) would suggest I'm more of a 5.0 (regular) flex shaft. But I really liked the feel of the club. So today at PGA Superstore I asked to see if they had any of the x-20 Tour clubs with a 5.0 flex that I could try. All they had was an X-forged with the 5.0 shaft, so I gave that a try to see if it felt any different. I couldn't really tell a difference between the two shafts and the distances were about the same (avg. of about 160). I thought both clubs felt fine in terms of the shaft flex. Although I was not nearly as accurate with the X-forged, but I account that more the club head rather than the shaft. Does anyone have any advice on my situation? Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the quick replies!!! I'm about to go to Golfsmith right now to get fit for a shaft, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again!
  9. Last week I was given a Callaway Big Bertha Fusion 3 wood, the only thing is the shaft is light-flex, so I need to get it replaced. I'm on the boarder between regular and stiff flex for my driver. I am considering just having a steel shaft put in, mainly because I have no clue when it comes to graphite shafts. Does anyone else on here use steel shafts in their fairway woods (if so, what kind)? Also, does anyone have any suggestions on a mid-price level graphite shaft? I don't need a top level shaft, but I don't want to go cheap and suffer the consequences. Thanks for the help!
  10. My default beer is almost always Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, it was love at first sip. Recently Sierra Nevada released their yearly batch of Bigfoot Barelywine Ale; I had never been able to try it in past years, I had just heard about how wonderful it was...well I finally got to try and some, OH MY so much flavor, a very, very tasty beer
  11. Tiger, Tiger Woods ya'll!!! Although, I'm not a big fan of comparing athletes/teams from different eras. There is far too much speculation (& opinion but I guess that's what makes this such a fun conversation) involved. Jack was the best during his days and Tiger is the best now. The way it stands now it would seem likely that Tiger (pending a full recovery from the ACL surgery) will surpass 18 majors. Like many others though, I feel that Jack had more great-level competitors to contend with. Tiger has a higher volume of good-level players in the fields with him. I'm sure there will be a day after Tiger hangs it up that another golfer comes along to challenge his greatness...hopefully this forum will still be around for that debate, haha.
