  1. I have had to play with my progressives. Can't read the score card or gps without them. The ball does look fuzzy at setup, but in actuality I hardly see the ball anyway during my swing. Once I am set up, I could close my eyes and hit the ball.
  2. Don't be ashamed of that fade. It can help you keep the ball on the green, shape the ball around trees etc. Control it and own it. On the other hand, if you have a draw and a fade you have one more trick in your arsenal. Make the fade your go to shot, but don't turn you back on the draw.
  3. I can't imagine what Mr. Sifford went thru to play this game. It surely must define his character or he is the most hard headed person ever lived. Kudos to you Mr. Sifford, it didn't take the Freedom Metal for me to believe you are a great man, as I knew that before. God's blessings.
  4. I've been playing with this some myself. At this preliminary stage I notice more effect on P3 on the shorter wedges and irons than my longer clubs. It does seem to be sharpening up my shorter game shots. I will try using it to shape thee ball and see what happens. Very interesting reading others efforts and results.
  5. Mvmac: thanks for your reply. Actually I'm [for once] not dealing with a problem. My swing and contact is as good as it has ever been. It is just that I want to understand my swing specifics which I believe will help on the golf course. Ernst: Right, the more I understand my swing the better it gets. Thanks and best wishes to you.
  6. You need to place the ball just forward of the bottom of your swing. The bottom of your swing may vary depending on the conditions you are standing on or even how you are swinging that day. The better you get at striking the ball, the more placement position will become automatic. For now, you should look where your divot begins and place the ball there. If you begin making divots in front of the ball, move it back, behind the ball, move it forward. That will get you hitting the white ball more than the big green ball more often. Study the swing and make adjustments as you get better.
  7. Julia: before I can comment, I need to see what you look like in the fleece lined pants. As for your golf, I know you can do it.
  8. I tried the genie thing a few times. He's too lazy, never around when I need him then when he does help wants all the praise. Like if didn't do anything. LOL. Natureboy: I believe you are on to the idea on the downswing. I do have a reasonably good swing and make good contact with the ball. But, there is that quest to continue to improve and be a better ball striker. The one thing in my mind when I swing an iron right now is to swing down the line I want the ball to go. That thought is working for me now, but I would like to make sure my right hand is doing the best it can. You description adds some legitimacy to the short read I saw. My thinking is the more I understand about the swing the better I can diagnose and correct swing problems on the golf course. Thank you for sharing that.
  9. Natureboy: I did not receive a notice of your reply, thanks for looking. I would say my dispersion from 180-200 is about twice the PGA average you noted. Perhaps that is not too bad all things considering. I certainly would not mind tightening that up and will keep working on it. Best wishes
  10. Interesting replies, and thanks for looking. The internet is a wealth of information which is sometimes the problem. The only reason it caught my attention is I really have no sensation of my right hand doing anything on the downswing. I have been working on doing a better job of compressing the ball so I tried it. I can only say I was able to do it, but it added nothing to distance or accuracy. That is the reason for my question. Out of curiosity, do any of you have a sensation of your right hand doing anything during the downswing?
  11. I agree with saevil. You will get almost no swing speed increase until you have maximized you swing efficiency. Once you have an efficient swing you can begin to work on increased swing speed. I was able to add about 4 mph to my driver swing by improving my swing and using much more relaxed arms and hands in the downswing.
  12. I had not really thought much about my right hand action as it nears the down swing bottom, but always trying to improve, I was reading something I thought interesting; the article spoke of a push downward with the right hand just as the club begins to hinge in the break for lag. I tried this and could feel the pressure against my RH pointing finger joint, something I don't normally feel. I can't say this improved my swing as I thought some of you might have some input. I hate to make swing changes, then un make them. Do you feel a push in your right hand to help begin the lag in your swing?
  13. saevel: I will work up to a slo mo video, but at this time have no way to get the picture. Trying to get some help there. Patch: That to date is the smartest thing I have done for my swing as well. I am very fussy about my setup assuming it is responsible for at least the beginning of my swing. I have seen improvements as a result. It is those 10 yard misses I would like to improve on. Inthehole: Good tempo = good control. I do rather well controlling my length which leads me to believe tempo is pretty good. Also contact is very good most of the time. I'm just looking for some accuracy drills to work on that might be helpful. Probably would need something to do during the swing. I will keep practicing and good luck to you guys as well. Thanks for your replys; go play good golf.
  14. My game is improving, but I need some tips or drills on how to fine tune accuracy. I get pretty close on length, but struggle with missing right or left of target. Not by large distances, but by 15-20 yards from about 175 yards and out. Thought some of you might have some magic drills to make me hit the pin. Thanks for looking and best wishes.
  15. Well said Lihu. I bought these iron, like new for $250.00, 8 years ago. Was a good buy for me.
