  1. You should see your doctor if it isn't getting any better. Sounds like a rib fracture or strained abdominal muscle. If you can press on your chest and have point tenderness over one rib, with painful breathing, then it's probably a fracture. If it is more diffuse pain with twisting or bending, then it's a muscle strain. Pain control and rest are going to be the treatment for either of those. But don't take advice from an internet message board, just see your doctor.
  2. I shot an adjusted 94 (actual 96) on a big par-74, 74.2/133. I needed it because my handicap was about to go up. And it's getting harder and harder to finish 18 on the super-twilight rate.

No it isn't. The paracetamol (acetaminophen, or tylenol) is not an NSAID and will not cause ulcers. He prescribed it to lower the pain level and thus decrease the need for NSAIDS, protecting against gastric ulcers. There's no need to worry about peptic ulcers unless you've had those in the past, in which case NSAIDS (but not acetaminophen) could cause them to bleed.

If it is only minor pain and you can tolerate it, try taking ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve) before you start. That will decrease the inflammation so it is not as painful the next day. If it is very painful, rest it for at least a couple of weeks (may take up to a few months to heal completely). If it comes back, get some lessons because there could be something wrong with your grip or swing that is causing it.
  5. The son-in-law shot: not everything that you had hoped for, but you're ok with it. The George Bush shot: too far to the right The Rush Limbaugh shot: way too far to the right
  6. I would hit a 6-iron to about 110 yards, just right of the traps, then a PW aimed at the center of the green. Par is a good score for me.
  7. Are you talking about Sunset Landing at the new airport? I was talking about Huntsville Municipal at Airport Rd. and the Parkway...seems like there were model planes there when I was there 12 years ago. I have an interesting story about Sunset Landing. I was caught out on the course in the worst thunderstorm I have ever seen, and I saw a tree get struck by lightening a couple of hundred yards away - a big branch fell off and was smoking! All I could think about was a quote Lee Trevino once said: "If you're on the course in a lightening storm, hold up in 1-iron high in the air, because even God can't hit a 1-iron!"
  8. Good to see some Alabama folks on here. I grew up in Huntsville, now living in LA. I used to play the muni at the old airport once a week, but that was a long time ago. War Eagle!
  9. My name says it all. I have even studied "golfer's elbow."
