  1. I don't play a 5 wood either. I play a 3 wood 240, 2 hybrid 220 and 3 hybrid 200 - 205. I just retooled my hybrids and after hitting several I went with the Wilson FG Tour M3's. I bought a 17* that can adjust to 16* - 19*, and a 19* that can go 18* - 20*. I chose these over others because of the feel and a nice high, boring ball flight. Also getting them new with the wrench kit and 3 different weights for $60 a piece was a plus. Also they just want to go straight and are stupid easy to hit. May want to look into them if you get a chance. Good luck!!
  2. I play the Golfweek Am Tour out of Charlotte NC. This tour has been functioning for 25 years. There are approximately 43 areas / cities throughout the country that have affiliates of this tour. The tournaments are run very professionally and ruled by USGA rules. It is a flighted tour and once you begin playing you will be flighted by your index from tour events played only. If I travel to say Utah and they have an event I can play that event and carry some points back to my home tour. Prizes are generally given in the form of a gift card. The great thing is that the competition is great and we play a lot of private courses that you normally can never play unless you join that course. If you want a tour that is established and competitive look at amateurgolftour.net or type a search for the golfweek am tour.
  3. I have made a conscious decision to do two things in the the last two months that have helped greatly. The first, shorten the backswing. My backswing was so long that it made me sway my hips to complete and thus threw everything off, hooks, pushes, and loss of distance. With the shorter backswing ( hands to left shoulder high ) I hit all clubs more solid and the swing is stable with a good turn instead of a sway. Second I have made myself hold my finish until the ball hits the ground. This has made me stay in balance throughout the swing. With the implementation these two details I am hitting the ball solid where I aim and have my distance back. May be worth a try for you. Good luck!!!
  4. The Kal'i shaft I have is a made for Titleist shaft. On the site it states that it is mid / mid with a 4.2 torque. I am just going by the info on Titleist site. As for the Project X red my buddy got this shaft off of Diamond Tour golf at 46". It states it is a mid / mid shaft at 3.7 torque. I did pick the shaft up and will be taking it to my club fitter to have it prepped. I plan to let him trip it how he thinks is best where the 910 will play at 45". I will update all of you when I get some time with the shaft. In the mean time thanks for all of the information and hit them long and straight.
  5. I had the same problem as you. Struggled with the PX and the Ahina for months. Bought a made for Titleist Kal'i 65 in stiff and problem solved. Nice boring mid high ball flight. Got all of my distance back and probably a little more. 108 to 110 swing speed and the shaft holds up great. Good thing is you can find these pretty cheap too. Hope it helps and good luck!
  6. Thanks for the input. Both shafts are a stiff one 60 the other 65. I have played the Ahina 72 and the 7C3. Both of these shafts I struggled with in dispersion, flight, and lost distance. Bought the Kal'i on a whim and dispersion and distance is back. It is mid lauch, mid spin, 45" and a 4.2 torque. Just thinking that the mid / mid is helping by getting the ball up, and keeping it up longer. Even with the high torque the Kal'i still feels very stable to me. Just seeing if anyone has had experience with the Project X pvx red as I would like to have two shafts that I could change between the D2 and D2. Any further information will be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hello everyone. New to the Trap and need to ask a question about the shaft above. A friend of mine has this shaft full length uncut and will sell it for next to nothing. I have a 910 D3 and D2 head that I switch a MFT Kal'i 65 between depending on conditions and how I feel that day. Looking for another shaft that is comparable to the Kal'i. I know this is an OEM shaft, but I am wondering if it will hold up to my swing and if anyone has any info on how this shaft performs. Any info is appreciated. Swing speed 108 Quick / harsh transition.
