  2. Yep, tried to get them myself this fall but my pro said tour issue so looks like I will be sticking with my Fli-Hi.
  3. The ATV series are designed to have a dynamic bounce that basically changes depended on how you manipulate the face(open/closed etc). Personally I own a 60* and it took a while to adjust, but I do enjoy the versatility it gives me. If you are "scalping" the ground, I assume you mean you are taking a large divot? I would say open the face up a touch to offer yourself a bit more bounce that should help the club from digging into the ground. Also, you said you are fairly new to the game....maybe take a few lessons and work on flattening your swing plane? Generally if you are digging with your wedges it is due to too steep of a swing plane on the down swing. Hope this helps. -Tim
  4. I'd say my typical miss is a spinny cut. A lot of it is because I do have a steeper angle of attack. It will creep in every now and again but it isn't necessarily a huge miss maybe 5-8yards right of topic.
  5. Hey guys, Just a few updates on my swing. Been putting in some work over the summer/fall and its paying off on the course. -Tim
  6. Yes, I do. I will try and upload a more recent one in the next day or two.
  7. I'd say I use my own swing. Its got some elements of stack and tilt, and a lot of elements of a traditional golf swing. Its tough to classify it as either one.
  8. 6'5" 290, used to play offensive tackle before I broke my back.
  9. It is amazing to see that 10-20handicappers can hit the ball past a lot of pros, must be some pretty poor short games out there. Anyway, here are my yardages, all of which are carry distances. Driver: 290 3w: 265 5w: 245 21*: 235 4i: 220 5i: 205 6i: 185-190 7i: 175 8i: 165 9i: 150 PW: 140 54*: 120 62*: 80 -Tim
  10. Hey guys figured I would let you club junkies know about my new set coming in! For starters, I picked up a Ping Rapture Driver(10.5*) with a proforce v2 off ebay for $25(STEAL!), and a ping i15 23* hybrid at edwin watts for $65. These will replace my R11 TP and my Adams Idea Pro Gold 22*. I also just ordered a set of Titleist 712 CB in the 4-7i and MB in the 8-9, and a Vokey SM4 46* pw. My bag set up will look like this for the next coming summer/season: Driver: Ping Rapture 10.5* w/ Proforce V2 66g X 3w: Ping Rapture 14* w/ Mac Burrows 73g X 5w: Cobra S9-1 Pro 18* w/ Diamana Whiteboard 73g X 4h: Ping i15 23* w/ TFC 700 X 4-7i: Titleist 712 CB w/ DG X100 (+1", 2*UP) 8-9i: Titleist 712 MB w/ DG X100 (+1", 2*UP) PW: Vokey SM4 46* Black Nickel (+3/4, 2*UP) GW: Cleveland CG14 52* Black Pearl (STD, 2*UP) LW: Vokey SM 58* Black Nickel (STD, 2*UP) Putter: Ping D66, 35" For those of you that may question why I went with a 4H and a 4i it is because the 4h is as long as my 3i would be length wise with a slightly weaker loft than my set 3i, so in effect it will fly about 15yd further than my 4i but offer me a lot more versatility than the 3i would and it still keeps my iron distances in 10-15yd increments. I'm pumped can't wait for the irons to come in!
  11. Personally I'd go with the scotty or maybe a nice ping redwood....the edel putter I was fitted for just wasn't my thing when I actually gamed it. The face felt like it had some dead spots too it, good looking stick though.
  12. thanks for the replies guys, believe it or not I have never even considered my swing being compared to angel cabrera. thanks for giving me the model and the suggestions. by "deeper" hip I assume you mean more hip rotation on the way back?
  13. This is me working on hitting a power fade which usually fades about 8-10 yards with the driver for me. I'd say my typical miss with this is just the shot that doesn't fade back, not quite a pull but just the straight shot. I recently worked back to the fade as my stock shot with the driver because I was having a lot of blocks or quick hooks when playing for the draw due to getting stuck.
  14. Hey guys, Figured I would show you what I've been working on this winter. Bringing back the power fade off the tee so I can hopefully find some more fairways, its been working out so far. Just to preface my swing speed is typically 123 average with the driver and about 105 with my 6i, I play to a 1 handicap, and this video was shot at Rhode Island College where I'm a member of the golf team. -Tim
  15. it may depend on your swing speed, players with lower swing speeds very often times have trouble getting the ball airborne with lower lofted clubs. high swing speeds can impart more spin on the ball, thus making it easier to get the ball up in the air and stay in the air for longer a lot easier. -tim
