Hello all, long time lurker, first time poster. I love reading the articles and have improved quite a bit. Also, im on mobile so I hope this is an acceptable place for this question (?). I just bought a 3-PW iron set of Ping Eye black dots. After verifying this with Ping, they said they were made in July of 82. I have a set of Hogan irons I use mainly with some newer Pings thrown in. I actually bought these Ping Eyes because Ive always heard good things about them.
Then yesterday I was about hit them at a driving range when a friend said to check the value of them first. Well, the problem is, its so hard to find a somewhat accurate price for these. Google seems to think I mean Ping Eye 2, as most searches come back as such. Ive seen on Ebay $150-$200, which I would consider probably norm, but then saw a guy post a while back a friend offered him $2000. Which seems steep.
Anyway sorry for the long post, but could anyone give me an idea of the value of these. 1982 Ping Eye black dot. They are in almost mint condition and have the original Karsten Ping grips. I just dont want to hit irons that may be worth a bit, ya know? Thanks again.
