  1. I really like the Titlist DT's they have a lot more roll than any other balls Ive used. I also like the Nike Distance ones, they're in a red box. They are pretty cheap too, around $15 for a box and they have the same effect as the DT's I feel like they are a little softer though.
  2. I would love to get a putter with more feel, I think I'm loosing my touch around the greens. I used to be able to sink 10-20 ft putts without thinking too much but now I think I've lost touch with my putter, litterally. At this point though I am still a decent putter and would rather get a better driver. If I can hit bomb drives and putt fairly well then all I have to do have good approaches. This is all in theory of course... :)
  3. Im playing at Willamette University and its great because its really low key. It's D3, nothing like D1 golf where it would take over your life at school. I'm glad that academics come first here because how many of us are really going to turn pro? Its just fun and it fit me because I'm not a great golfer lol. Serious golfers should definitely go for D1 schools though, you could pursue a career in it if that's what you want. Look at your options, decide if you want to go to school just for golf or for the academics because it really depends on what you want to do.
  4. I try to think about nothing but I'm too analytical for that. Thats why I am not a good golfer. I don't know how to stop thinking and just play. I have a great swing but my mind is a mess and its a mind game. I generally thing about Grip Alignment and Posture-GAP. Something my golf coach tried to get me to think about, I'm not so sure it worked.
  5. Up and down: when a player holes the ball in two strokes starting from off the green. The first stroke, usually a "pitch", a "bunker shot" or a "chip", gets the ball 'up' onto the green, and the subsequent putt gets the ball 'down' into the hole. (var.) "up and in" Granted this is from Wikipedia, but I have never hear that an up/down meant you had to save for par. Its just a good save, can we accept this and let the good bogey bring as much pride as a good par save?
  6. Last spring we were playing at the Woodburn OGA course. Willamette Invite. We continually had to wait through hail storms, huge hail balls the size of nickles cowering under our golf umbrellas. Later on, I experienced my first encounter with golf rage. The OGA tournament that was intersecting ours (we were going from 8 to 9 they were going from 14 to 15) included 4 young and angry men attacking an older man who kept hitting into them. There were clubs flying. All in the middle of two tournaments. They rushed us girls off, but it was really hard to concentrate after seeing grown men attack each other with golf clubs. The hail didn't help either.
