  2. So I shot my best round ever today which was an 86. My driver was actually working with me after I fixed something... to not slide my hips back. Seriously was roping everything down the middle or it would fade to the right. I was hitting them anywhere from 270-300 yards and right in the fairway or the right of it. The only thing that is killing my now is mishits on my short game. Anything under 120 yards is just unbearable for me. Next stop, the driving range... or get a 52 degree.
  3. I have a tee time set-up for tomorrow at 12:14. I'll let you know how it goes to see if it was just a one day wonder kind of deal. I'll have my girlfriend record a few swings as well.
  4. Just calculated my handicap for the first time ever and I'm at a 14.1 as of now.
  5. I'm always aggressive with my shots. Just yesterday I shot an 87 on a Par 71. I can hit my clubs pretty damn far for how long I've been playing. I can hit my 3 Wood off the tee 250-270 yards consistently. So on a Par 5's that are over 500 Yards I tend to use my 3 Wood again in the fairway or my 3 Hybrid which I can crank out to just about 250 yards depending on what kind of lie I get off of the tee. Just pretty much what I'm saying is be confident with yourself and you will see results if you risk it for the biscuit on some shots.
  6. I had four pars and one birdie. I did feel the change in not moving the hips back. I did a lot of practice swings with not moving my hips before I played and I could totally tell in my muscles the difference it was.
  7. Just shot my best round ever yesterday. Worked on not sliding the hips to the right and voila it was like magic. My balls were going straight for the most part and I was hitting the greens in 2,3, and 4 shots on Par 4's and 5's. Shot an 87 on a Par 71, 41 on the front nine and 46 on the back 9.
  8. What exactly does it mean the "hips sliding back". I don't really know what that term means so I wouldn't know how to fix it.
  9. From three weeks ago I've changed a few things. Stance is not as wide anymore and I attempt to keep my feet shoulder-width apart, my grip has changed since the last video seen, and I flare lout my front foot a little at address. I'm still having trouble hitting the ball to the right. I will have some shots that will fade to the right when I don't want them to. I am wondering if that's timing with my wrists or is it because I don't get my weight forward all the time? Here is the video...
  10. The reason why I haven't done any lessons yet because I'm too scared that I'll get a bad instructor and it will curve me down a bad path. I've read some horror stories, so I'm being cautious and doing my research before I commit. Although, I have found a place I am willing to try out though with my girlfriend. I'll post the link to see if you guys that are reading this post think it's worth it. http://www.chicagolandgolfacademy.com/
  11. These are actually my averages. I just hit an 18 on Sunday and those are pretty damn accurate yardages. I vividly remember hitting 3 7i shots 176,181, and 184 yds according to my GPS that I have and I've also hit my 6i 200 yds consistently because it's usually my go to club after I rail a 3W off of the tee on a 450+ yard hole to either lay up or attempt to get on the green with my aggressive mentality.
  12. Alright so since my last post on the site I've been to two 18 holes. Shot a 95 and I played absolutely horrendous, IMO. Everything felt out of tune. Don't get me wrong I still had some nice shots, but I felt most of my strokes came from trying to force the Driver upon myself which I still haven't been able to toy around with to get comfortable with. I felt like I was pressured to hit with my driver off the tee because my two other buddies who have been playing for roughly 4 years now were doing so as well. Well, so today I decided to hit with my 3W off of the Par 4/5's every time and voila it was working like a charm. Straight shots ranging from 250-280 yards and one that rolled down to about 295 according to my girlfriends GPS. I have continually worked on keeping my feet slightly flaired and my grip is working like a charm. I honestly completely forgot to get a video today since I was too focused on getting my girlfriend on calming down from her bad round that she was having, but I will for sure get another video up by Sunday so you guys can check up on it.
  13. I don't have a gap wedge because I have just a starter set from Top Flite, but I still have a Sand and Pitching Wedge SW: 80-100 PW: 120-140 9i: 141-155 8i: 156-170ish 7i: 171-190 6i: 191-205 5H: 210-225 4H: 230-240 3H 245-255 I know these numbers might seem unreasonable, but for just starting out I have been told I have a pretty powerful swing. The club member I got paired up with today word for word said "Man, when you hit the ball, you frickin' hit the damned thing."
  14. Finally got a round of golf in since about this past Friday. Shot an 88 today on my fourth 18 hole. Shot a 49 on the front nine which was a bad round then I picked things up on the back nine which I shot a 39. I also had about a 35 footish putt that had two breaks in it to sink it. The older man that got grouped with us just looked at me waiting for my reaction, but I just walked to the cup and picked up my ball. Granted the putt was for Par, but it was a damn good putt.
  15. Went to the range today and did everything that I did at the range the other day or so I would hoped I have. Everything felt like it is getting better and better still, but something is quite different. Instead of my shot sometimes having a push draw, I was consistently hitting pull fades with Hybrids, 3W, and my driver which I was finally confident in using finally. Any reasons on why this could happen?
