  2. Yep just a magnet that locks the two together.
  3. I was in a similar situation a year ago and decided to find an instructor. For the sake of my back I'm glad I did and still do every other week.
  4. It uses a magnetic docking station
  5. I bought a Garmin VivoActive early this year and so far I love it. Yes you have to recharge the battery but it charges extremely quick and gives me all the info I need at the glance of my watch. I have an iPhone and downloading courses is a snap. Garmin uses their iConnect app to manage its course uploads. It's pretty nice. There is more I could use it for such as hazards but I haven't tried doing it.
  6. I mostly use Wilson Duo's. I love them and I feel they are cheap enough I'm not breaking the bank when I have to buy more.
  7. I have a very similar problem but I also take a prescription to help control the nerve pain. In all honesty the best thing I've done was to hire someone and take lessons. The instructor immediately told me to stop swinging in the manner I was and taught me a much easier and fluid swing. Since I have a very limited follow through he also gave me some pointers on things I could do to take some pressure off of my lower back.
  8. Well I'm going to take the all the advice and go to golf galaxy here and go see what's out in the world of golf now a days. Thanks a lot for the replies.
  9. The second opinion is in the works and I am seeing my specialist in two weeks so I'm pretty stoked. I believe warming up by stretching and possibly yoga is a great idea as that should help a ton. My plan is to get setup on a set of clubs that are about two to three years old. I'm really interested to hear if the flex of the shaft can make a big difference for someone in my situation as far as helping / hurting my ability to hit the ball consistent. Thanks for the ideas guys.
  10. I know this has been brought up before, kinda. What I really need is some advice. I haven't played in 8yrs due to a severely injured back and nerve damage to my left leg. I had surgery and was told to quit playing but here is my problem. My son is 7 years old and he wants to play golf so we hired an instructor here locally for him. I had a really tough time giving up the game when I did and I sold everything. Now that I'm watching him play and trying to keep him active in it I am finding myself having some real trouble not trying to play again. So, I've decided to heck with it I'm going to play and ask later. I went through some motions and even swung a couple clubs and it felt good just thought I might fall on my face. What I really noticed is that my swing will be much slower but much more controlled so I'm thinking something with a flex that a senior would use even though I'm only 36. Any suggestions on a setup for a really really slow but controlled swing would be helpful. I was never a really good golfer but loved to play and am looking at a really forgiving set of irons due to the fact that I might have issues addressing the ball the same with every swing until I can learn to play with this. Thanks again
