Clubs too short for my height?

I'm left-handed. I too have the very same issue regarding height. I am 6ft. tall and my nine iron is 36". I feel that I need to bend my knees a little more than your average golfer. Not only does it affect my swing but it's very uncomfortable that my back begins to ache. If I'm not mistaken, a person with my height needs a 37" iron. Correct?
