  1. Played so badly that I dont want to ruin everyone's day by saying.
  2. I thought the same thing when I read it... Was going to post something very similar but had to leave to go to the RANGE! LOL.
  3. Hmmm... Here is my thought (as if it means anything to anyone). When I am hitting range balls and come across a good playable ball I take it. By the same token, if I hit a ball into the range area during a round, I leave it. It turns into a wash. If I do not take a good ball out, then I would feel compelled to walk out in the range area to get the ball that I just hit into it. It is not stealing... just a way to even things out.
  4. Jeeez... I wish you were my brothers.
  5. Arthritis on left hand really affected my contact. Frustrated, shot 6 over for nine...
  6. Don't have a HC, but I shoot about 10-12 over on championship courses. After close to 20 years of sporadic playing (kids, coaching life etc) I got my wife to play. So this summer I spent much time on the range with her and she loves the game. Number one man on HS golf team (many years ago) I was playing at 1-2 over during matches. I would like to get back to 5-6 over by next year. Old guy now (59 years) but I can still hit it with confidence. Great game!
  7. Being older now, I don't have near the flexibility that I once have, hence a much shorter back-swing. I give up distance that I once had, but I hit the ball much straighter and with more control than I once did. A good drive for me is bout 230 or so. Average is prolly 215 or so. But I am usually in the fairway. Irons are not real strong either but fairly straight with a solid true divot.
  8. Read a few over the years (Not as many as my should have--- as my game will attest to). My all time favorite "Golf My Way. Jack Nicholas."
  9. High School Social Science teacher. Coach Football.
  10. In all honesty, my wife (been playing for about 5 months) could really benefit with 15"ers. I personally would never use em, but her confidence could/would grow using em.
  11. And that is precisely why I don't.
  12. Wish I had played in one of your scramblers then. I may have just hit on one of the not-so-great ones.
  13. I played in one Scrambler about 15 years ago. Never again! It was just a drunk fest, guys screwing around on the course playing what clearly was not what the game of golf is all about. I actually have no problem with others participating in them, but to me "it does not represent what the true game of golf is. Yeah I know, all the younger guys on here are thinking, "man this old dude is a stick in the mud, lighten up OLD MAN". Just how I was taught many years ago, and still play the game.
