  1. So I got some callaway x forged irons for around 220 u.s. And am getting them shipped to MI. My fathers friend has a po box he frequents up there. My only last real question is duty. Are Used golf clubs duty free?
  2. i think i might pull the trigger on a set of callaway x forged 4-pw with px 6.5 shafts. they have a similar look to the ones i was fitted for and i've read good things on em. i hit the 2009 version and hit them well and the feedback was nice on the forged club with abit of forgivness. There around 200ish for a used set . so i think its a good deal. or should i wait till 2010 ? i do live in canada so all winter ill be hitting balls from mats indoors :P I think i'll grab a adams pro gold 20* 3 hybrid to replace the 3, price on them has droped with the matrix ozik shaft. might drop more when the black is released.
  3. whats the best payment option to use on ebay? what are the pros and cons to each?
  4. Hey guys, im canadian and have some questions for you experienced ebay shoppers out there. im looking at buying some used clubs from ebay in hopes of saving myself atlot of cash. I'm curious what charges as far as duty / taxes / etc i can expect to pay on top of the price listed. Anyones experiences dealing with us sellers shipping to canada would be great. thanks
  5. So i went to golftown today and tried out the nickent 4dx pro's irons felt great as did the irons, still not sure how the stiff nippons compare to the px6.5's but the fella said i could easily get them lie adjusted +2. Im still allittle apprehensive about using 3/4 hybrid. but if the pros are going along those lines now and if it'll make the game alittle less frustrating then why not :) also the price is right :)
  6. How do the shafts compare, the nippon in the nickent 4dx and the project x 6.5. when fitted i do tend to have a high trajectory and alot of spin. so the px 6.5 really brought the #'s down and my yardages went up atleast 10 yards. appreciate the responces, i plan on hitting the 4dx irons tomorrow. tho am abit apprehensive about using a 3/4 hybrid. I do hear hybrids described as legal cheating :P so why not.
  7. Just wanted some opinions on some new irons i was looking for. i was fitted recently for tm tour preferred irons with +2 lie and project x 6.5 shafts. Now if i can get these irons for a good price then great but i think they may be more then i can afford. so i was checking out rockbottom and see they have a set of 5-pw Nickent 4dx pro irons with the Nippon NS Pro 1180GH stiff. i was thinking get these and one of their 3 /4 hybrid sets. my question is can i get these nickent lie adjusted easily ? i think there forged vs cast and will i end up reshafting them to projectx or can i get away with the nippon. Alittle history of my golf game to put some prospective on my delema, this is my first season playing seriously. end of last season before lessons and consistant golf i was hitting 100+ all the time and not counting all shots :) Now after lessons and playing regularly my game has really come around. consistantly scoreing around the 80's, lowest round this year a 78.
  8. Well currently i have a tm r540 from years ago with the stiff proforce v2 63g and i rocket it into the air. launch and ball spin are crazy high. Might be the combination of the head and shaft. I do catch it well sometimes but still way to high and im loosing distance. The fitter said that im between stiff and xstiff(tho i wasnt hitting my driver well for fitting, tho did hit em ~300 on solid hits), so recommended the fubuki in stiff. would i notice a big loss of distance if i just go with x if i was close ? How high would i need to average ss to properly load the fubuki. thanks for any info/suggestions you all have recommended. p.s. i just noticed the head on my driver is 350 cc damn :S
  9. I noticed that the callaway FT IQ tour uses the same fubuki shaft that the r9 has, hows the face compare? higher launching , more forgiving? I have heard that the r9 isnt the best for off centre hits. anyone know of perhaps other shafts that compare to the fubuki? I might just have to bite the bullet and go with what he recommended just searching some additional options. any info would be great thx.
  10. Hey there guys, I went and got fitted for some new irons and also a driver. Since I have access to taylormade gear at great prices I had the fitter fit me for an r9. With my current driver I do tend to really balloon it as my ss is I’d say 105-120 depending on how I go at it. He swapped around heads and shafts etc and we arrived at r9 tp with 8.5 loft and stiff fubuki 63g shaft, he also placed a heavy weight in close to the shaft (think he said this helps square the face at impact as I tend to come in closed. He said this really brought down my spin #'s and the distance I was getting around ~300 with a piercing flight. I'm curious what drivers/shaft combos I could look at from other manufactures that would give me this sort of setup but perhaps save me some cash. Perhaps a cheaper named shaft with similar characteristics or perhaps a head that’s different.
  11. old thread i know, but my question relates to this topic :P. im considering a ping g10 9degree with a ust v2 stiff shaft .. i believe the standard length of the shaft in this club is 46 and the shaft is rated from 95-105 ss. my ss is around 110-115 average. would tip trimming this shaft result in it playing like an xstiff if after getting this driver i feel its to soft?
  12. What's your ss ? Mines around 110-115 with a driver average should I go stiff or xstiff
  13. I am in the market for a new 3w, thinking 15degree. My question to anyone out there who has hit one, Can i just order it with the stock motore shaft? is it good ? also what ss would you say the stiff and xstiff are taylored to. I hear tm shafts are known to be lower on the flex scale then others.
  14. I can get my hands on a ping g10 7.5 loft with a aldila vs proto blue 65g. For around 250. Or I could buy a tm tour burner and reshaft with perhaps a aldila nv for around the same. Not sure if 7.5 would perhaps be to low of loft tho
  15. I'm considering a tm tour burner myself and would be interested in finding this out aswell, I can also get a g10 with the aldila vs proto . Trying to decide between the two.
