Seeing as it's the middle of winter and I don't like playing in the cold, that's to be determined. However, my point is, longer and straighter with the new irons should impact scores in a good way.

I had been playing with an old Wilson set of irons that are 15+ years old. Recently I bought a Callaway XR set. I went from hitting the old 7 iron 155-160 yards (and mostly straight) to 175 yards (and consistently straight) with the new ones. I couldn't believe the difference, not only in the distance but also how much straighter I hit the ball and how much better properly fitted clubs felt to swing.

I've been trying to find a way to play Valhalla for years and no luck. If anyone knows of a way to do it, I'd love to know.

Pete broke the #1 rule of baseball. That is, you do not gamble on the game. Ever. Gambling nearly destroyed the game in the early 1900's. As a huge baseball fan, I don't want to see that happen again. And Besides, Pete has had every chance to reform himself and get off the banned list. He has nobody to blame but himself. Lets also not forget that Pete's accomplishments are in the HoF. His jersey, bat, helmet, etc are there commemorating the day he become the NL hit leader. All he doesn't have is a plaque that the HoF'ers get.

I live in Louisville. Seneca and Quail Chase are very nice courses, I'd definitely recommend both. If you are staying in downtown or the east end, Seneca will be the closest of the two. Another option, if you are willing to drive over to Indiana (about 15-20 minutes up I-65 from downtown), Fuzzy Zoeller's Covered Bridge is a nice course too. I'd recommend keeping it simple, fun and learn by doing. I think as we get older we tend to want to be perfect and complicate things that shouldn't be. I taught myself to play in my early teenage years by hitting short irons around the yard and made fun games like closest to the target contests between my cousin and I. We even had two short "holes" setup and played those as par 3's only using short irons. Silly looking back on it but it sure was fun. Add in watching some live golf on tv (or nowadays YouTube videos) and over time I got a good swing down. I think if I hadn't gone the fun route and instead made it something to study, I would have never kept playing.
