  1. Beautiful course, weather, players-----but disappointing cup. Team look unenthusiastic and not ready to play. You could tell that some were exhausted from the tour events, some had games that were weak coming into the event. Watched a lot of it, but didn't give the usual emotional investment as I had in previous cups, first watched War on the Shore Kiawah.
  2. That one-hit wonder that I didn't want winning ----hated it when Shaun Micheel won the PGA. Rather see the generations best win the big ones and not the one (Paul Lawrie) that you won't hear from again......
  3. I always rather have the winner have a good career resume rather than a one-hit wonder (Todd Hamilton) win it.
  4. Conners was in the first group that I came upon while out at Valspar - first hole with a few other players I didn't recognize (Dou from China, for example, Rod Perry). Told my dad who was with me, lets ditch these scrubs and find some players we know.
  5. Not a big TW fan anymore since the "incident" - that being said, hope he wins this weekend. I thought he was done when he showed signs of chipping yips a few years ago. Went out to Valspar Thursday and didn't wait around to see Tiger in his afternoon round - bringing out the huge throngs/mobs - nongolfers even going to the event - very unusual for Valspar to get this sort of attendance. Just evidence again that TW really moves the golf needle - good for the industry (TV, ads, venue attendance).
  6. FOX to air 45+ hours of coverage at U.S. Open at Erin Hills
  7. The nines were flipped as well......likely this hole was #3 when the picture was taken.
  8. I played Furth Monteith for many years. Reichwald once. I lived in Nuremberg several times in 70s, 90s, and by Koenigstein/Vileck a few yrs back. Played Heidelberg a lot also. I played there when Americans owned the course. I recognize Conny's name.
  9. Chris, I've played all over Germany and have attended many Euro PGA events. Where is you home course?
  10. Jordan Spieth Back to Defend - Valspar Championship Tampa Valspar Official Site Jordan Spieth, 10 past winners of the Valspar Championship are in the field including Vijay Singh and Luke Donald, who also have been the top-ranked players in the world. Henrik Stenson (#6) and Patrick Reed (#10) are two other players in the OWGR top 10 in the world in the field as are #11 Branden Grace, #15 Danny Willett and #16 Brandt Snedeker. Looking forward to the annual walk around the course during practice rounds and a few early rounds for 2016.
  11. Par 3 is for the entire day. Usually there's practice on the regular Augusta National course for about six hours. Then the players head to the Par 3 course. Large crowds around the fairways, greens. I only went to that once, I think. I continued to walk around the course and take pictures with no players - but a lot of greens keepers prepping the course for the start of the tournament. I don't recall anyone telling me that I couldn't walk around the course. There is the possibility for a rain out - that has happened where the entire day gets cancelled. Would be unfortunate to travel all the way from the West Coast and have that happen. I enjoyed the practice round days more than the regular event - I've probably been to 10-15 days out there. I lived in Augusta for 6-7 years while in the Army and would get tickets through the Army, from a friend, and did the lottery once and got in that way. Hotels/motel prices get to be x2-3 priced more. I'd stay in ATL, drive out early (2.5 hr drive), get there about 8 a.m., stay the day, return to ATL that night. Or use Columbia SC for hotel, and drive in (70 miles).
