  1. Earlier in the summer I was playing the same 4 courses and my handicap was down around 7.0, but recently I've been trying to play new courses and have also taken some weekend trips and played courses that would never be in my normal rotation. Now I'm probably playing to a 9 handicap. I generally don't shoot as well on a new course, but iI don't care. I play golf to have fun, not to make a living.
  2. I was terrified walking out of the store with mine...until the first time I took them to the course. Pure. Butter.
  3. They have excellent deals from time to time. I paid $350 for my MP-67 irons
  4. I agree with this, except for the range of the low handicap golfer. I fit into the description of the low handicap, but my actual handicap number would place me into the mid range. I'd say a low handicap golfer is single digit. /emoticons/a4_sad.gif" title="Frown"/>
  5. Awesome balls. My local Golf Galaxy still has some in stock and I pick up a few dozen every time I stop by. They are on par with the Pro V1x but have a firmer feel and better durability.
  6. Yeah, I'm not really his son though, just his red-headed step child I'm just joking though, he's not my Dad. Although, my real Dad used to do that drill...
  7. I've been using my 46" Callaway BB460/ProLaunch Blue combo a lot lately since my XCV-G is on the bench while I decide what shaft to purchase. Whatever I decide upon, it's most likely going to be cut down to 44.5" or 45" and will be heavier than the ProLaunch Blue. I have seen excellent results with Grafalloy products, so it'll probably end up being the Platinum or Red. That's if I don't splurge on the Motore F1
  8. Yeah, he's my Dad, where do you think I got the tip?
  9. Stick a glove under your left armpit and take some practice swings. If you can release the club properly and roll your wrists over, the glove shouldn't fall out. My dad always did this while taking his practice swings before we would tee off.
  10. I try to swing as hard as humanly possible. My 150 yard club is a 58* wedge, which usually results in a divot the size of a young child.
  11. I've never been too concerned with having matching shafts in my wedges. That being said, I have a set of 52/56/60 wedges on the way from Scratch, the new 8620 model. They're cheaper than the Vokeys and you get to choose from a variety of lofts, grinds, grips, and shafts. I got my initials stamped for free too! I highly recommend checking them out.
  12. Sign me up, I'd be all for dating an LPGA pro. "Man, you're so bad at golf I'll bet my wife could beat you! I'd bet $100 she takes you to school..."
  13. I do this as well. Along with playing the ball off of my back foot it helps me from getting to "handsy" and ensuring a downward strike on the ball. With my other clubs, I have a low takeaway so I tend to cock my wrists late. It just makes the transition to my downswing a bit easier. Honestly, I don't see why it matters. As long as you can create a bit of lag and release the club before impact, who cares when you cock your wrists?
  14. What is your swing speed? Me thinks that shaft/driver combination isn't suited to your swing. I'm sure the range balls and wind were a factor, but you could be leaving yardage on the table with that setup.
  15. I've heard that a driver with a shorter shaft length will greatly increase the control. I believe Sergio is now playing a driver with a shorter shaft. I assume you will give up some distance, but I'd rather be 280 out in the fairway than 300 out in the long stuff.
