Wow, when I purchased the bag the springs were crossed and I just assumed that was the correct placement of them. I feel like a complete idiot now for not thinking of that sooner but thank you so much for your help! The bag functions perfectly now.

I managed to pick up a nice used Ping Hoofer bag at a thrift store for about $15. The bag seemed perfect until I tried to walk a round with it and the metal part that stabilizes the left leg kept falling out, which makes it hardly able to stand. This lead me to believe that there may be a part missing that holds the legs in place. Does anyone know of an easy way to fix this?
