  1. Hey everyone, all new poster here. I'm looking for some good, hopefully, youtube videos on the best basics for the golf swing. A little back story: I'm trying to help my daughter take her baseball swing to a golf swing. Yes, baseball, not softball. She's a very strong 13yo girl that plays baseball at a fairly high level with the boys. She has an extremely strong swing, fully hip powered. I'm 40yo, and grew up playing and learning golf with my father, but gave it up for "girls". Stupid, I know. I've spent the past 5 years helping her be the best she can be at baseball. She's still extremely good at baseball, but a friend recently told me about the reality of scholarships for girls playing golf and we've gotten interested. She really likes swinging the clubs (probably at least 30yo, steel shaft, real wood head clubs) her grandfather gave us. Thing is, she's yet to solidly hit a ball. We went to a range for the first time yesterday and she barely even hit the ball. She can crank a moving ball at 75mph well over 300 feet, but hitting a little ball sitting still on the ground eludes her. I haven't swung a club in over 20 years, and the first swing I took went just past the 250 sign into the woods. I tried to think about what she was doing vs what I was "taught" so many years ago. I think, after watching her through a bucket of 70 balls, her swing is too "active" and she's over rotating. When she hit the ball, it was on the ground behind the ball. At the very end of the bucket she started hitting the ball, but the club was obviously wide open and was hitting the ball massively wide to "right field". Sorry for the baseball reference. I'm looking for a really good set of "basics" swing videos. She is extremely coachable. Even at 13, she's athletic and will do everything you tell her. She doesn't get much on her own, but if you tell her to do something she will simply do it, and do it well. I'm hoping that she might have a very usable golf swing with not much effort. Maybe I'm totally misguided, but I'm hoping. I've also spent years sending video of her to a very trusted, pro, baseball scout. I'm more than willing to send video to a qualified pro that's willing to help. I'm looking for someone willing to help though, not a fly by night "paid for" video analysis. They're everywhere in baseball, so I assume they're everywhere in golf too. Maybe her best should be switched to softball for scholarship hopes. I just have this gut feeling she's got a lot of power and coachability that's ripe for golf. Thanks to everyone.
